Installation - Ceiling AnutoneSalon Ideatec offers many options for installation in ceilings. Panels can be installed in AnutoneSkelet T15/O15/T15 White or Black as standard and colour matching as special. Other options include matching perimeter trims and melamine cover for AnutoneSkelet T15 as seen in the pictures on the left and below. AnutoneSalon Ideatec panels are available in three edge profiles - square, steppe, concealed - that results in the AnutoneSkelet T15 framework being exposed, semiconcealed or fully concealed respectively.

Acoustic Fabric Square Edge

The acoustic absorption is effected by a non-woven fabric that is only 0.2mm thick and is adhered to the back of the panels. It converts sound energy to thermal energy by friction.

Exposed Plenum

Ceilings can be truly designer and yet extra-functional with some part of the surface covered with modular ceilings, leaving some parts of the plenum exposed. This provides for a distinctly aesthetic look, plus enhanced sound absorption.

Installation - Panelling AnutoneSalon Ideatec offers two options for installation on walls. Panels can be installed in dismantable or fixed system. Panels are available in two edge profiles - Chamfer and Tongue Groove. The Tonge Groove with a fine bevel results in virtual seamless panelling.

Flexi system This system comprises of a 3-way adjustable metal brackets, an aluminium support profile and vinyl clips. The 3-way adjustable brackets make it possible to adjust the position of the support profiles and obtain level panelling. The adjustable brackets are fastened to the uneven wall, vertically in line, followed by the support profiles. With this system, the support profiles are always placed vertically. Level is achieved by adjusting the brackets. The corresponding clips are then fastened on the support profiles and the panels, which are then press-fitted in position.

Fixed Systems This is an innovative system for fixed panelling with Tongue-Groove edge profiles of the wall panels. It consists of a simple fixing cleat as shown in the pictures on the right. This fits into the Tongue-Groove edge profile of the wall panel. The metal cleat can either be fixed on AnutoneStrut CC25/ CC50 or wooden framework.

SoundSlats Ideacustic The AnutoneSlats Ideacustic range consists of panels made from acoustic fibreboards with lineal perforations for the avante garde look. AnutoneSlats Ideacustic are available in - 2 finishes - ‘L’ for Melamine Laminate and ‘V’ for Natural Veneer. See page 2. Additional choices are in solid colours of White, Sliver and Black. - 2 types - non-FR and FR - 2 variants - 2mm grooves @ 32 or 16mm centres. The edge profile is tongue & groove for the seamless look The stock dimensions are 2430 x 288 x 16 mm with grooves of 2mm machined on the surface. Grooves of 3 and 4 mm width are also possible against orders. The back of the panels are perforated with 10mm diameter circular holes with a nonwoven fabric covering of 0.2mm for providing sound absorption via the acoustic impedance method. AnutoneSlats Canales are available in - 2 finishes - ‘L’ for Melamine Laminate and ‘V’ for Natural Veneer. See page 2. - 2 types - non-FR and FR The dimensions are upto 1200 x 2400 x 12 mm with grooves of 2mm at 50mm centres machined on their face. Grooves of 3 and 4 mm width are possible against orders.

Installation - Ceiling To install AnutoneSlats Ideacustic as a suspended ceiling, install the threaded rod hangers with plugs to the soffit at 1200mm centres. The metal support profiles are then fastened to the threaded rods with nuts as shown in pictures. When all the metal support profiles are installed a perimeter angle edge trim is installed on the walls that is 18mm below the profiles level.

AnutoneSlats Ideacustic panels are then installed using the supplied fixing cleats. The first panel is installed by supporting its grooved edge on the perimeter edge trim followed by cleats on its other edge. The tongue on this first panel can be cut off for better bearing. Further panels are installed by sliding the panels’ tongues into the panels’ grooves and fixing with cleats. 16

To install the last panel follow the above pictures. (1) Place the grooved edge of the panel on the edge trim. (2) Hold the tongued panel edge in front of the grooved edge. (3) Slide the tongued edge into the grooved edge of the previously fixed panel.

Installation - Panelling To install AnutoneSlats Ideacustic panels as wall lining first fasten the metal support profiles to the wall at 600mm centres. Next attach the fixing cleats to the metal profiles by twisting them as shown in pictures below.

Once fixing cleats have been attached to the metal profiles the panels can be installed. The first panel is fastened with a â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;begin/ endâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; fixing cleat which are screw-fixed to the back of the panels in line with the metal profiles on the wall.

The top edge of the AnutoneSlats Ideacustic panel is fastened by sliding the fixing cleats into the panelâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s grooved edge profile as shown in picture below. Once the first panel is installed, more panels are installed by locating their tongued edge into the grooved edge of the previous panels. Continue installing the panels till the final edge of the wall lining is reached. Where the wall panelling is installed flush to the ceiling, the top panel is installed using the begin/end fixing cleat as there will be no space for using the normal fixing cleats.

Installation Precautions The space in which AnutoneSlats Ideacustic panels are to be installed must be acclimatised to occupancy conditions of temperature and humidity. A gap of 3mm must be allowed between the floor and bottom panel to allow for expansion and thereafter every 10m. The short edges must be staggered. Panels are prone to movement due to wide fluctuations in temperature and humidity and gaps between the sort edges of he panel may appear or disappear during seasons. This is not a panel or installation anamoly. All panels must be stored in a dry area and not be allowed to come in contact with water or damp at all times.

Low frequencies can be a nuisance in architectural acoustics with very large wavelengths that are difficult to manage both in terms of absorption and isolation. E.g. a 80 Hz the wavelength is >4m in size which cannot be absorbed with conventional acoustical materials. Only membrane resonators like AnutoneSonator can perform the trick. AnutoneSonator assists in cleaning out boomy interiors and makes them sound pleasant acting as bass traps. At the same time AnutoneSonator beneficially reflects the mid and high frequencies. Design Considerations While architects will be effusive in using AnutoneSonator in interiors due to the high aesthetic quotient, acousticians will be circumspect. AnutoneSonator, while absorbing low frequencies as a membrane resonator, reflects mid/high frequencies, and this can get troublesome, if wrongly used. Acousticians are adroit in harnessing the unique capabilities of AnutoneSonator and locating them strategically. Finally, a happy blend of aesthetics and acoustics determines the placement of AnutoneSonator. Since, it is not UV-resistant, it should not to be placed in direct sunlight. Damp surfaces have to be avoided. Wood grain and hue may differ from batch to batch. Z-clip fitment requires gap on top.

Installation Guidelines - C50 Panelling Scope – Design and Supply of AnutoneSonator panels and AnutoneSsories as per approved drawings and specifications, by Anutone Acoustics Limited, an ISO 9001 2000 company. Framework – AnutoneStrut consisting of CC50 channels, fixed at 600mm centres, using suitable fasteners. Infill - AnutoneSynth 10x50 rolls of 600 mm width positioned between the AnutoneStrut CC50 channels and retained with AnutoneStick S7 adhesive.
