Installation Guidelines

General Information Wall and Surface Preparation Prior to installation, walls and surfaces must be clean, dust free and void of any defects or imperfections. Dents and cracks should be levelled and sealed with proprietary and suitable interior grade materials. All joints in the substrate should be taped with a proprietary sealing tape to stop the ingress of dust and foreign particles travelling from the wall cavity through to the fabric. General Wall Use Anutone recommends using putty formulations for semi porous and sealed surfaces such as matt painted timber and cementitious surfaces. Very porous surfaces such as gypsum board should first be sized with a proprietary sealer. Semi gloss and gloss finishes should be lightly sanded and dusted prior to application.

Butt Jointing Method TOOLS REQUIRED

1

• snap off knife • tape measure • hand roller • AnutoneStick S7 2

It is imperative that you plan your installation prior to cutting into the product. We recommend that you “measure twice -cut once.”

Lay a waste cloth onto the floor before applying AnutoneStick S7. The adhesive must be applied to the entire substrate before hanging AnutoneSlim

• • • •

cutting board straight edge waste cloth 6-10mm pile roller and adhesive tray 3

Before hanging the remaining drops you must ensure the first butt joint is tight and no gaps appear, as with all joints when hanging AnutoneSlim

4

Roll the AnutoneSlim drops towards the butt joint first, then roll the entire drop.

Before the AnutoneSlim drops are hung, they should be checked for any minor faults which should be cutout. An allowance is given for agreed defects.

AnutoneStick S7 should be applied strictly to the manufacturers instructions. Adhesives should be applied to the substrate with a roller, not onto the product.

Any adhesive spills or fabric sur face contamination should be cleaned immediately as per the manufacturers recommendations on the care and maintenance guide for this product.

The job should be progressively checked and any variations in colour or appearance of variation must be reported to Anutone immediately.

7

Using Rigid Profiles TOOLS REQUIRED –

• snap off knife • cutting board • tape measure • straight edge • hacksaw • hand roller • rigid profiles • AnutoneStick S7 • staple gun and staples • 6-10mm pile roller and tray for the adhesive

1

It is imperative that you plan your installation prior to cutting into the product. We recommend that you “measure twice -cut once.”

5

Using the adhesive roller, apply the adhesive onto the wall - not the product. Leave a gap of 70mm either side of the rigid profiles to allow for tucking the product in.

8

2

We recommend that you install the rigid profiles prior to hanging Composition. Staples can be used on suitable substrates. For concrete surfaces use construction adhesive - this must be used as per manufacturers instructions.

6

Place the drops on the wall overlapping at the top and bottom.

3

Using a piece of Composition width, measure the space between each H-Spline and mark where the H-Spline is to go, then staple the HSpline in place.

7

Using the hand roller, roll the product to ensure adequate adhesion of the product to the wall.

4

Cut AnutoneSlim to the required drop sizes. To avoid any variation in pile direction, ensure all drops are hung in the direction. Use the arrows on the back of the product to ensure you have the directional arrows going the same way, either up or down.

8

Tuck the product into the end caps and top caps.

Using External Corners

Using Internal Corners

Before you staple the external corner in place, you must measure the space required using a piece of Composition to allow the product to be tucked under the profile.

Cut the internal profile to size and staple in place. Using the adhesive roller, apply the adhesive onto the wall, leaving a 70mm gap either side of the internal corner.

9

Maintenance Guidelines AnutoneSlim range of products are extremely durable and require little attention to maintain their good looks. Light vacuuming on a regular basis will prevent dust build up and most marks can be cleaned with a mild detergent solution followed by rinsing and blotting. Stains should be dealt with according to the chart below. •

Before carrying out a proposed cleaning method, apply to a concealed section to ensure it will not affect the adhesive or wall covering Avoid severe abrasion Vacuum to restore pile, but do not use a stiff brush.

• •

Note: Anutone does not recommend solvent based cleaners on AnutoneSlim

C

Sponge with a solutions of carpet shampoo working from well outside the stain in a circular motion towards the centre (this avoids spreading the stain). Sponge afterwards with clean warm water and mop up excess moisture with a clean dry cloth or sponge. Allow to dry then brush gently with a soft brush. If any stain remains, sponge with a solution of one part household bleach to six parts clear water. Thoroughly rinse after treatment.

D

Lightly sponge with household dry cleaning fluid and blot. Apply sparingly, as the substance may have an adverse effect on the adhesive.

E

Sponge with methylated spirits and blot dry.

G

Apply nail polish remover. The nail polish remover should not include lanolin or be of a greasy nature.

H

Sponge with turpentine (or substitute).
