Subtex Ebony Superior Acoustical Performance
Mat Black Finish Surface
Subtex Ebony provides excellent acoustical performance with matching aesthetics for multiplex theatres, sound studios and home theatres. Depending on specified thickness, Subtex Ebony absorbs up to 100% of the sound striking its surface. It absorbs light too - an important prerequisite for such spaces. Subtex Ebony helps provide high fidelity digital audio reproduction by reducing acoustical reverberations within enclosed spaces.
Subtex Ebony has deep black mat finish with very low light reflectivity. The black surface is ideal for eliminating screen light reflections and enhance image viewing.
Design Considerations Acoustical performance of interior surfaces can generally be improved by increasing acoustical material thickness. Subtex Ebony can be specified for use in conjunction with acoustical overlay like AnutoneSynth to provide additional performance.
Applicable Standards
Durable Material Composition Subtex Ebony is dimensionally stable and will not shrink or warp. The tile’s resilient composition resists job-site damage. When necessary, the durable facing may be cleaned by vacuuming. Subtex Ebony, composed of high-quality, high-density, finemicron acoustical core, will not rot or mildew and is noncorrosive to metal frameworks.
Fast, High Quality Installation Lightweight and resilient, Subtex Ebony is easy to handle, fabricate and install. Subtex Ebony is placed in AnutoneSkelet Ebony T-grids for suspended ceilings. Panels can be easily dismantled for maintenance of services in the plenum void.

The noise reduction coefficients of Subtex Ebony are derived from tests conducted in accordance with ASTM C 423 on a Type E200 mounting.
Installation Procedure Suspend AnutoneSkelet Ebony T-grid from the soffit. Please refer AnutoneSkelet Brochure under profiles for installation details. Place Subtex Ebony in AnutoneSkelet Ebony T-grid with gloved hands. Vaccum the surface for any installation marks.
Recommendation Budget - 595x595x15mm - Steppe edge in AnutoneSkelet Ebony T15 600x600mm grid. Premium - 1195x1195x25mm - Concealed edge in AnutoneSkelet Ebony T24 1200x1200mm grid.
