BEING MR WICKHAM starring Adrian Lukis

“Mr. Wickham is blessed with such happy manners as may ensure his making friends - whether he may be equally capable of retaining them is less certain”. Mr Wickham is ready to set the record straight. Adrian Lukis, who starred in the renowned BBC TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, returns to the role of Mr Wickham this autumn. Join Pride and Prejudice’s most roguish gentleman, George Wickham, on the eve of his sixtieth birthday, to lift the sheets on what exactly what happened thirty years on from where we left him. Discover his own version of some very famous literary events. What really happened with Darcy? What did he feel about Lizzie? What happened at Waterloo? Not to mention Byron? From the award-winning producers of Birdsong and the five-star revival of Alan Bennett’s The Habit of Art. £27. Under 25s and f/t students £17 (includes £3 booking fee)

ORCHESTRA OF THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT Mozart Overture: The Magic Flute Haydn Sinfonia concertante Beethoven Symphony no. 6 (Pastoral) Bruno Weil After the bustling overture to Mozart’s last opera comes Haydn’s genial and engaging work. Written at the height of his popularity during his second visit to London, it’s a concerto for four soloists – violin, cello, oboe and bassoon – who swap the musical material between themselves and with the orchestra in delightful style. The impulse behind the Pastoral symphony was Beethoven’s deep love of the Austrian countryside. The five movements of Beethoven’s symphony encompass the joys of solitary contemplation and a peasants’ celebration, a summer thunderstorm, and a final hymn of thanksgiving. £42, £38, £31, £24, £16. Get Involved Every year we work with thousands of people from across the Borough and beyond to explore their creativity in our Community Engagement programme. We provide schools and colleges with opportunities to experience classical and world music, to create their own music and theatre, and to support their careers. We work with people living with dementia

to help them stay connected and tell their stories creatively in our Finding the Words project. Our popular Musication Station encourages the community to try a musical instrument, whatever their age or ability. To find out more visit anvilarts.org.uk/get-involved
