CONCERTO BUDAPEST SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Bartok Mozart Beethoven
Concerto for Orchestra Piano Concerto no. 23 Symphony no. 5
Angela Hewitt piano Andras Keller One of Hungary’s leading orchestras comes to The Anvil for the first time. Perhaps the composer’s most approachable work, Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra is filled with musical colour and bursting with ideas, building steadily through its five movements to an exultant conclusion. Mozart’s piano concerto was one of three he composed while working on The Marriage of Figaro. Its limpid scoring and deeply poetic slow movement, give it an atmosphere distinctive among his many concertos. Beethoven’s fifth symphony, from the most famous opening in music, builds steadily through its four movements from dramatic struggle to a blazing, triumphant conclusion. £42, £38, £31, £24, £16. Under 25s, f/t students £11 (includes £4 booking fee) 6.30pm / The Forge Platinum Friends standby tickets available on the day

We provide schools and colleges with opportunities to experience classical and world music, to create their own music and theatre, and to support their careers. We work with people living with dementia
to help them stay connected and tell their stories creatively in our Finding the Words project. Our popular Musication Station encourages the community to try a musical instrument, whatever their age or ability. To find out more visit anvilarts.org.uk/get-involved
