Children in Need Synopsis If my t-shirt was chosen for production it would be important to me to make it as eco-friendly as possible. The technique used to apply my design to the t-shirt would be screen-printing as this is something I specialise in at university and do as a hobby. To make it as sustainable as possible it would be great if the use of water based inks over plastisol inks could be considered as they are much more environmentally sound. Also, a company called Sgreen produce a range of green screen-printing cleaning products that are considered more eco-friendly than what is standardly used in industry. For my design, I tried to stick to something that is age and genderless making it accessible for everyone. To make it personal to me I decided to use a picture of myself and friends, which I then distorted in a glitch generator to create an interesting original design. Children in Need day as a child for me was the most exciting time of year where I got to enjoy dressing up and being involved in making Pudsey themed cakes to sell at school. As well as being so much fun it always made me feel good because I felt like I was helping a good cause. Children in Need is an important charity to me because every child deserves to have a bright future. My best friend growing up was taken away from her mother because she was no longer fit to look after her meaning we lost contact. It is a shame this happened and she went to live with her father because I think, if a charity like Children in Need could have had the opportunity to step in they would maybe still be able to have some connection. Me and my friend have since found each other again through social media are again best friends but she has never been able to connect with her mother again. My friend has gone on to do great things but this isn’t the case for every child which is why I think it’s an important charity to support.
