Breathing Module investigates the ultimate experience in living within 25 square metres in terms of functional pods. The living room=14sqm, The bedroom=7sqm, The bathroom=4sqm.

The livingroom with a garden on the side, consists of a full-applicance kitchen, a dining table enable to have 4 people eating together, a TV mounted on wall, and a nicely-designed wall storage system, a two-seater sofa, which a turn to a sleeper sofa when having guests over.

This 4 square metre bathroom equipped with a shower set, a wall-hung wc, a wall-hung washing machine, a washing basin, a mirror, and storage room behind toilet/mirror, and under the basin. Enable to meet every needs from the future residents. In a pure white bathroom, only some black accent color, ensure the inhabitants can have their relaxation moment here.
Bedroom
A 1320x1880mm double bed, four storage box under the bed frame, and the back wall storage system wraps over the bed, giving a sense of settlement. Besides, a foldable working desk by the window, to ensure the future inhabitants have to choice to work nicely from home, with enough daylight. By the night, the inhabitants can enjoy themselves through a projector. Even at home, the movie watching can be cinema like.

Music is information, the wave of sound. Meanwhile, space spread its information from eyes to human’s whole body and includes the potential to convey various information. This research aims to find methods to spatialize musical elements, and through this, apply the characteristics of Jazz improvisation into a scenario of small housing.
Concept Montage
Thus, providing a different way of thinking towards the urgent global issue of the housing shortage. To find a new form of interior which could absorb the experience of life, contain the past, and hold the potential of the future.
Jazz Space Prototype

Compare to the more familiar design full of cubic space, within a curvy space, and there is less trace of edge. It could visually more match the openness of jazz improvisation's form. Nevertheless, with the combination of two straight walls, it shows there are still some rules to follow. Moreover, a specific aspect of sharpness created by their connections could also probably perform the tension of improvisation.

Meanwhile, it should also be a space without a visible indication of function but with some adjustable division units and storage units. As a student of landscape architecture and living in Taichung for almost 4 years, the direction of my graduation design project should be the part that I concern the most in this period. Recalling these four years, in addition to living as design majoring student, the thing I most frequently contacted after school is music. I am also fortunate to meet some musician in Taichung. Since most of them are playing a part of the independent music, the idea of creating urban music spaces that are more friendly, more diverse, or simpler to use and also enjoyable without performance is the subject I want to discuss.
