HUGE THANK YOU TO HASVITA LOML FOR HELPING ME DECORATE + FORMAT AND FOR HALLEA FIDM BESTIE <3 FOR DRAWING THE WONDERFUL COVER BC I CANNOT DRAW FOR DA LIFE OF ME </3333 CREDS TO THEM BOTH!

MESSAGE Hey Unis!!! Happy July! I'm going to be honest, this past month has been one of the most stressful, with summer classes, college research, and a lot of personal stuff. However, Key Club is always something I can come to for comfort and joy!! Seeing your spirit and energy throughout all of the events reminds me of why I am in Key Club in the first place! My favorite event of this month was DEFINITELY the Region 7 Beach Clean-Up. It was so nice to make new friends and see old ones! One more month until we all see each other again, and I'll be officially a senior </3 ... Anyways, I'll see you all at our bonding event with WR + Castaic, and hopefully at OTC. Currently, I am in Banff, Canada while writing this, (i hope you noticed the theme is travel/cork board esc hehe and I’m really happy about how the newsletter came out so I hope you guys enjoy it too) and if you are traveling as well have fun and safe travels :D Thank y'all for reading!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDITOR

MESSAGE Heyy uni-acorns!! :DDD

I hope you are all having a refreshing summer break so far! (and i mean that because of how high the temp is nowadays 😭😭) Moving along, thank you guys for always showing your constant dedication, support, and courage to come out to all of the DCMs and volunteer opportunities, we always appreciate it!! So please keep it up with that amazing spirit because we still have more events in the future for you guys to come and attend to (for example: picnic with WR + Castaic and OTC!!!) Sadly, that’s all I have to say for all of you, just a reminder to always sparkle through service, stay hydrated, keep smiling, and have a swaggy rest of your summer break uni-acorns!! 💖🦄

OTC

Officer Training Conference, or OTC, is an annual event held in July alongside D16S to train new officers specific to their positions. There will also be workshops for being a leader, public speaking, stress management etc. While this event is MANDATORY for officers, members are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to come and learn more about Key Club! To qualify for the MRP you are also required to attend TWO training conferences so please come if you can make it!

PICNIC

This month, we will have an interclub event with WEST RANCH and CASTAIC Key Club! An Interclub event is a way for different clubs to collaborate on a service project while also bonding with members from the different clubs (what we did with Golden Valley with the gingerbread house making!) We plan to have a picnic + a service project sometime in late July, so come and hang out with new or old friends and get your service hours this summer! We will send updates through our INSTAGRAM, GOOGLE CLASSROOM and DISCORD, so please follow/join!

june UNI-C The second DCM of the term was held on June 11th, and it was quite an event! We painted on canvases and made homemade ice cream as part of the first fundraiser of the term! The paintings will be donated to the local Boys and Girls Club to be used as decorations. Although the day had its ups and downs, or rather, the heat had different plans... everyone still had a blast painting, drinking "milk shots" and bonding with the other unicorns!

dcm CONE During the DCM, Club, Unicorn, and Officer of the month awards were also handed out. Our home club president, Maria Manalastas, was selected for Officer of the Month of June for the division, and we could not be any prouder! Maria has shown dedication, passion, and compassion through her planning and overall spirit for Key Club. Maria has been a fantastic president and we can't wait to show you all what we has planned for the school year.

WHY I RAN FOR THIS POSITION: This club changed my life. I have never witnessed such a united club that feels so much like family. The energy that always surrounds the room is so positive and spirited and never fails to put a big smile on my face. The events that I attended for our division were always so much fun, ESPECIALLY FALL RALLY! I had so much fun memorizing the chants and screaming them out loud until I lost my voice. Because of all these reasons, I was inspired. I dedicated so much time to Key Club, so I thought that I could do way more as a member in Key Club and provide my ideas to make everyone’s experience way better than it already is!

include everyone project

FREE TO BE ME MUSIC FESTIVAL This music festival was held on June 12th from 36 PM at the Canyon Country Community Center. As volunteers, we helped with a variety of booths such as arts and crafts, dance and movement, and a drum session. The purpose of the festival was to celebrate children with disabilities and provide them with a fun day of activities and bonding! Special thanks to members Hallea, Noah, Hasvita, Renee, and Caleb for helping out with this event.

INCLUSIVE PERFORMING ARTS CAMP "In the Include Everyone Summer Camp, hosted at Gervais Dance Studio, kids with mental disabilities/special needs participate in a week long program. In this program, they engage in fun activities together and learn a dance routine that they get to perform on the last day. As volunteers, we help interact with the campers and with whatever task the staff give us, such as setting up the instruments for the campers to use or to dance alongside the campers. Personally, I was tasked with taking pictures and videotaping the program for that footage to be compiled together into a video for the parents of the campers to watch."

REGION 7 beach clean up

The annual Region 7 Beach Cleanup has finally returned after three years! On June 25th, Key Clubbers from D16 and D03 met at Dockweiler Beach (through a fun and bumpy bus ride) for a day of picking up trash, pieing the LTGs, and having fun at the beach! We were able to bond with the other divisions and have a great time playing in the water, eating hotdogs on the sand, and playing fun icebreakers. While our division had the lowest attendance, we still #slayed.
