Key Club does in fact, not make keys. But, we do open doors to new opportunities! Key Club is an international, student led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Being another branch of Kiwanis, you might already be familiar with it!

Being in Key Club does look great on College Applications, but it is way more than a volunteer club. You get to make life long friendships, strong connections within your community and volunteer in monthly unique opportunities! The more involved you are in with the club, the more you get out of it, so it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend events! Don't be afraid if you don't know anyone, it is a very welcoming environment :)

Key Club always comes back down to service. However, that doesn't mean volunteering can't be fun! We offer tons of unique volunteer opportunities such as "The Color Run", "Festival of Trees", recycling drives and more. Finding the real "community in the service" is one of the many fun experiences Key Club has to offer :)

oughout the Key Club term, you will develop strong DERSHIP skills. Whether it's through an officer, division even district position, you have the chance to make impact on your fellow members. Club elections are in February, and Division and District positions open up after DCON. Even as a member, you can also join committees or become a committee chair!

You can attend many exciting events through Key Club where you can meet people from other schools from our division or other divisions. Immerse yourself in unique high school experiences through attending Fall Rally or DCON and be a part of the largest student led organization in the world!

13 13 perserving pnewhall erserving newhall community cday ommunity day august adcm ugust dcm highschool hmusical ighschool musical

August 28th, was a day filled with music, games, vice as our division's August DCM was held at the l Boys & Girls Center from 3pm 5pm! The theme DCM was Y2K, and many members showed their t dressed up in 2000's attire! Six DLT members d the games in groups assigned by numbers, and rted off the day by playing musical chairs, then ories, and finally ended off with a service project where members made cards for people who they cared deeply about On the side, DLT had an exceptional karaoke performance of One Direction's, "What Makes You Beautiful." The change of pace from an outside DCM to an inside one was definitely more enjoyable (considering the California weather at this time ) and overall it was a fun and musical day!

On August 20th from 9:00 AM 12:00 PM, our divisio helped out with the city's "Preserving Newhall Community Day" We were all assigned jobs from painting walls, mulching, and picking up trash Whe we got there, we were immediately notified of the difference in tools compared to the volunteers so m of us had to take on different jobs than we have sign up for My friends and I specifically helped with cutt down the branches of some stubby trees to help clear the space! Although it wasn't something we expected to learn and do, it was really interesting and rather fun (despite all the dust allergies lol) We saw how much of a difference some volunteers made to our city in just 3 hours and would state the event as a success!

On August 20th, we had another volunteer opportunity, but this was hosted by AOC Key Club! We worked with the "Circle of Hope" with their fundraiser for charity held at the Scorpion near Six Flags Magic Mountain. As volunteers, we were assigned a variety of tasks to help with the event, and shifts ranged from 3:00 6:30, to 6:30 8:30, or the whole day. For the first shift, we had to alphabetize last names for lanyards, organize water bottles, and carry boxes around to where they needed to be We also had to set up signs outside for parking, so people knew where to park their cars For the parking team, volunteers were taught in the beginning to station themselves and what we were told to say to the people that arrived. For example, the cars would pull up at the entrance, and we would ask them if they were Guests, Sponsors, or VIPs, and we would direct them to a particular place where they were allowed to park Overall, it was a fantastic experience and time for our first club volunteer event of the school year, and we hope you guys are able to help out with the next one!
