Rancho Murieta Association Guidelines for Sunday and Holiday Construction The only contractors who may make any improvements on any lot on a Sunday or a holiday are those who are performing emergency repairs or do not create noise that would disturb what is supposed to be a peaceful day.

Some examples of contractors which are allowed: • • • • • •

Remodel estimators – called in by resident Appraisers – called in by resident Housekeepers – called in by resident Plumbers – emergency only – called in by resident Electrical – emergency only – called in by resident Propane Delivery – emergency only – called in by resident

Serving Our Children and Improving Our Quality of Life

It has been our pleasure to serve the Rancho Murieta Community, its youth and others in need. Through the volunteer service of our members, community-wide support of our fundraisers, and in concert with others, we currently sponsor: • The Cosumnes River Elementary School (CRES) through purchase of equipment and supplies, the Knitting Club, our Homework Club, etc. • Youth events such as our Music Mike Concert, Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Fishing Day. • Youth sports including Little League, girls’ softball and lacrosse. • Local Boy and Girl Scout programs, including Eagle Scout projects. • Four $1,000 scholarships to local high school graduates; and a Scholarship Education Night. • Leadership training and community service through K-Kids and 3 Key Clubs. • Community events including the 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, Casino Corral, and Blues and Brews. • The KANE (Kiwanis Assisting Neighbors Enterprise) program which provides for loan of medical adaptive devices, meals to shut-ins, and other support to families in crisis. • The bus stop shelters and bicycle racks in the South. If you are interested in getting involved, meeting new friends, having fun, and making a difference in your community, please join us at one of our meetings. We meet the first and third Thursday of every month from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. in the Rancho Murieta Villa’s Conference Room. Rancho Murieta Women’s Club Celebrating our 20th Anniversary in 2012 The Rancho Murieta Women’s Club was founded in 1992 as an organization to “foster the intellectual, cultural and social needs of the women in the community.” To achieve this purpose, interests were identified in the areas of cultural, health, home & garden, crafts and group outings. The information gathered from women attending the first several organizational meetings, led to the formation of initial interest groups in those areas. Membership in the Rancho Murieta Women’s Club is available to all women who are residents of Rancho Murieta, north, south, or village. Dues for the Club are collected annually. Membership entitles the women to join any or all “Interest Groups” which today include Art, Bocce Ball, Book Clubs, Bridge Clubs, Bunko, Canasta, Knitting Club, Outings, Gladabouts, Pinochle, Walking Group, Photoclique (fun with photos, Cardmaking, and Wander Women (a travel group). Activities of these groups are reported in the Activityline, the bimonthly newsletter of the Women’s Club. The newsletter is included as part of the annual dues, and sample copies are available at the RMA office and online at ranchomurieta.com. Luncheon meetings are held on a bimonthly basis, starting in January. The meetings feature speakers, entertainers and/or a fashion show, as well as an excellent opportunity for social interaction. The Women’s Club sponsors the community Blood Drives four times each year in February, April, July and October. These drives have grown on an annual basis, and our organization has received awards for our efforts from BloodSource. A Garden Tour is held biannually in the Spring, and the Holiday Home Tour is an biannual event offered in early December. At both of these popular events the members spend the day touring homes or gardens.

Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. The Rancho Murieta Optimist Club is a great supporter of the youth in our community and the surrounding area. The Girl Scout program is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and four fundamental goals that encourage girls to: • Develop to their full potential. • Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect. • Develop a meaningful set of values to guide their actions and to provide for sound decision-making. • Contribute to the improvement of society. Girl Scouts are divided into Daisy Girl Scouts (ages 5-6), Brownie Girl Scouts (ages 6-8), Junior Girl Scouts (ages 8-11), and STUDIO 2B for girls ages 11-17 (formally Cadets and Senior Girl Scouts). Local area troops are led by adult volunteers who receive training and support from our local Girl Scout Council, Tierra del Oro. New troops can be formed at any time of the year, and girls can join existing troops at any time depending on available space. Each troop is run independently, and meeting times vary. Currently, Rancho Murieta has an abundance of girls in need of adult volunteers to start new troops or to share special talents and expertise. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, encourage leadership, and to develop personal fitness. Boy Scouts is a year-round program for boys 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. Troop 633 Scout meetings occur every Monday night in Rancho Murieta at 7:35 pm at the RMA Building. Cub Scouts is a year-round family- and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the first through fifth grade (or who are 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 years old). Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Pack 633 meetings usually occur the 4th Friday of the month at various locations in Rancho Murieta at 6:30 pm.Â

Cosumnes River Little League provides recreational baseball in the Rancho Murieta, Sloughhouse and Wilton area. Little League is a program of service to youth. We offer an outlet of healthful activity and training under adult leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. We are dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. Baseball inspires them with goals and enriches their lives. It teaches the value of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play. With the help of our community and contributors, we continue to improve our facilities and expand our scope.

Cosumnes River Girls Softball League’s objective is to promote and encourage social, physical, mental and moral development of girls aged 4.5-16 through positive organized softball. The program will encourage good sportsmanship and friendly competition, while educating players about teamwork, fellowship, courtesy, discipline and integrity. All Board Members, Officers and Members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance. Pleasant Grove Junior Eagles Football and Cheer Pleasant Grove Junior Eagles Football is an age based/no-weight limit program. Both Football and Cheer programs are designed for our elementary and middle school youth between the ages of 6-14. The Jr. Eagle program is a true “feeder program” in that the children eligible to play/cheer for PGJE must live within the boundaries of Pleasant Grove High School. The Junior Eagle program is committed to the creation of a football and cheer program that is integrated with Pleasant Grove High School ideals and theory of play. The PGJE program is both rewarding and enriching for the players, cheer squads, coaches, parents and families while creating a sense of community, tradition and a building for the love of the game. PGJE accepts registrations beginning in February and will conclude on the first day of Try-Outs. The season begins with a skills camp lead by the PGHS Coaching staff in early July. Try-Outs begin in late July running Monday through Friday with Saturday games through mid-November. The PGJE program is affiliated with Sacramento Youth Football (SYF). Games are played at venues throughout the Greater Sacramento Area. Rancho Murieta Soccer Club “Come Kick it with Us” The mission of the Rancho Murieta Soccer Club is to provide an organized, safe and enjoyable environment in which to educate recreational soccer players while introducing their teams to competitive games. RMSC offers a soccer program for kids aged five through 14 and feeds players into Elk Grove Youth Soccer League’s competitive and community playing league programs. RMSC also runs a “Little Kickers,” which is an introduction to soccer for four year olds. Our soccer season runs from August through December. Our practices and home games are at Stonehouse and Riverview Parks. New coaches and volunteers are always welcome!

Our History Founded in 2003, the River Valley Garden Club, a member of California Garden Clubs, Inc., is open to residents of Rancho Murieta, Sloughhouse, Wilton, and nearby communities. Membership includes monthly meetings featuring expert speakers, a monthly newsletter, as well as tours and workshops. Your membership card may be used as a discount card at specific local nurseries. Members’ gardens range from small container gardens to extensive acreage. Master Gardener and River Valley Times columnist, Mindy Cecchettini, will answer your gardening questions. The Rotary Club of Rancho Murieta is part of a worldwide organization that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Adventures in Motherhood (aim) is a momâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s group. Created by moms for moms of all ages and stages of motherhood. Aim provides a place to build relationships, share experiences and grow in motherhood. AIM meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 9:30 am til11:00 am from September thru May at Rancho Murieta Community Church, 14670 Cantova Way, Rancho Murieta. Moms join us for light refreshments, relevant speakers and some creative fun. You will be refreshed and inspired! Activity based childcare is provided by experienced and loving women in a safe and kid friendly environment. Supervised homeschool room available for kids to work on their school assignments. Your kids will enjoy their time too! We are committed to safety. Background checks are done on all adult childcare workers. Email us at aim@rmchurch.org.
