DESIGN PORTFOLIO
ABOUT ME I'm a 21 year old design student, pursuing my bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad. I love everything about art and the freedom it gives oneself to express. Abstract art and minimalist innovation have always been a part of my artistic diet. Apart from doodling, I love to work with different materials and mediums and create unique pieces of art that is a reflection of my creative thoughts. My area of interest lies in Jewellery and Home Decor. My aim as a designer is to amalgamate traditional concepts with the elegant but sophisticated futuristic ideals. Currently, exploring and creating an artistic space to be lost in.

PRODUCT COLLECTION MEN’S JEWELLERY
DESIGN BRIEF
The forecast “Into the wild” which is a sub topic under the theme “Tenderness”, revolves around the life of a rugged man and his lifestyle, with the Great American West set as the backdrop. It takes inspiration from the elements of the Great American West lifestyle. Versatility and glamour are incorporated into a single style without cutting down the aesthetics of the components that provide comfort. The product range consists of an array of pendants that reflects the spirit of adventure in the target customers. According to the research conducted the male community has always been fascinated and often inspired by famous legends and stories that talk about heroic characters. The product line aims to catch the attention of men under the age group of 25 to 35, who are fascinated by vintage sceneries, have a passion to travel and is in tune with nature. It is the revival of the old vintage design elements from the late 1860’s to the early 1920’s, in sync with the modern minimalist approach to futuristic designs. Although the collection will display products that draws inspiration from the male crowd and is supremely targeted at men, it makes sure that the female crowd appreciates it equally, hence placing it under the unisex product category. As a wearable accessory, they can add balance to a garment or bring the traditional style, colour and overall interest to an otherwise neutral palette. The bold yet striking details in the product range are bought about by using mostly precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum along with Swarovski crystals. The approximate overall cost of the overall collection would range from 1500/- 30’000/- (including cost for sterling silver-33 per gram, Gold-2514 per gm., Swarovski crystals-1000 and labor cost is variable) The cost of precious metals alter according to the market fluctuations.
Based on the data collected a visual study of various areas related to the main theme was recorded down.

CLIENT BASED PERFUME BOTTLE DESIGN
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The aim of this project was to design perfume bottles based on particular client characteristics. A client board was made and a series of words related to the client was derived from it. Using these set of words, a mood board was made that contained images which resonated with certain client characters. Forms were derived from the board and geometrical forms were developed. In the upcoming stages of the design process, asymmetric forms were generated from the geometric CLIENT BOARD,MOOOD BOARD AND LIST OF WORDS shapes. Explorations of the selected DERIVED FROM IT few were done and a single bottle design was finalized. It was then rendered according to precise measurements.

SIMPLE DESIGN PROJECT SCHOOL BAG DESIGN
The project included the study of a particular client and his surroundings. My client was a school student aged 12 who resided in a slum area. The goal to be achieved was to create a simple design using minimum, cost-effective, re-usable materials to make school bags for the children belonging to the lower class society. Keeping in mind the above criteria, a school bag was designed that “ could be made available and mass produced at a minimal cost. The materials used are canvas, hardboard, foam, jute and stainless steel buttons. A prototype of the visualized product is made using cheap materials such as Muslin cloth, paper, cardboard and yarn.
DETAILINGS ON THE PRODUCT
A logo was created to go on every school bag. The logo combines wisdom with nature, since the bags use recyclable and eco-friendly materials. The feather represents knowledge or wisdom while the budding leaf represents the eco friendly aspects of the product. This strategy also helps in spreading awareness about the importance and benefits of using eco-friendly products. The design is also incorporated as the zipper design in all the bags. Together it stands for the tagline,
Education in tune with Nature

ERGONOMICS MEDICAL PILLOW
WHAT IS ERGONOMICS? “A scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system , and the profession that applies that theory, principles, data and methods to design, in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.
CONCEPT:1
PROBLEMS FACED: The closet lid tends to fall back on the person’s back, causing discomfort. SOLUTIONS: 1) To prevent the lid from falling down, a small magnet mechanism is used. 2) The flush button/handle has a plastic strip running beneath, which is attached to a small metal strip at the extreme end. This metal strip is in close contact with the surface of the tank. The moment the lid gets in touch with the tank’s surface, it gets attached to it preventing it from falling over. The magnet keeps the strip in place. 3) On pressing the flush button down, the strip is displaced downwards, along with the metal strips. On loosing contact with the metal strip, the lid falls back down gently, with the aid of a spring mechanism.
CONCEPT:2
PROBLEMS FACED: 1) On forcefully trying to remove the plug, the chances of getting electrocuted is increased to a great extent. Hence, it possesses a great risk and puts the individual’s life at risk. 2) Internal damage may be caused due to the external force applied.
SOLUTIONS: 1) A slight concavity is created in between the two pins of the euro plug. This increases the grip factor and therefore helps in pulling the charger out of the socket with ease. 2) Corrugations are made on the surface in order to further enhance the grip. The pressure points are located near the finger support (dented area )as well as the corrugated areas.
CONCEPT:3
PROBLEMS FACED: 1) Pain on the right side of the curve of the upper body area, due to uneven curvature. This abnormal bending of the spine is termed as ‘Scoliosis'. The uneven curvature creates uneven pressure points. 2) Prolonged hours of walking or involving in other physically exhausting routines causes the muscles to tighten up and causes muscular stress. 3) The normal cushions tend to slip away and not remain in place while sleeping.
SOLUTIONS: A slight bulge is created over the pillow which will support the curve and creates the required lift required to focus on the pressure points and help relieve the stress in those areas. The main pressure points lie near the neck and hip area.
RESEARCH WORK OF THE FINALISED CONCEPT
Scoliosis is not a disease, but rather it is a term used to describe any abnormal, sideways curvature of the spine. Viewed from the back, a typical spine is straight. When scoliosis occurs, the spine curves. All scoliosis cases involve asymmetrical muscles. A spine with scoliosis twists abnormally due to strength and bulk imbalances among muscle groups in the back and elsewhere (such as the lower extremities) that are supposed to be equal. For whatever reason, some muscles on one side of the back grow stronger than the opposing group on the other side and pull harder. The weaker muscles cannot maintain a balance, so the scoliosis cycle begins and gradually worsens under the asymmetrical loads.
FINAL PRODUCT RENDERING
Side-lying on the bolster where the major curve is helps relieve stress. This method is known as the Schroth method. It helps in Curve straightening, de-rotation of spine, ligament stretch and stress relief.
The bend on the pillow is created suiting the angle of the spinal curve, popularly known as ‘Cobb’s angle'. The pillow will have a stiff fiber inside with a soft cushion/spongy layer on the outside for extra comfort. Since the Cobb angle is different for each patient, the pillow will have to be custom made to allow more comfort to the individual.
HARDWARE DESIGN &PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT EARPHONES
ABOUT THE PROJECT The aim of this project was to study the design and ergonomic factors of a product, understand it's original inspiration and come up with a re-design that derives inspiration from the original product. The product I choose was a pair of 'Skullcandy' earphones. Through a detailed research it was found that the brand takes inspiration from the Human Skeletal System (form) synchronous with a Night club ambiance (the colours and other visual elements) Taking inspiration from the same, a mood board was created and numerous explorations were made on the basis of a general study done on earphones. The final design was rendered by hand and digitally, using the 3ds Max software. The form takes inspiration from a human hip bone and the colours were kept vibrant, in order to bring out the youthful, fun and energetic feel that the company delivers in all their products.
INSPIRATION BOARD
STUDY OF EXISTING SKULL CANDY EARPHONE DESIGN
IDENTIFYING THE DESIGN INTENT: LINES: The product is characterized by smooth, curvilinear lines that stands out and gives a clear cut definition to the entire design. SYMMETRY: Depicts an overall balance although the design is asymmetrical in nature. COLOUR & VALUE: The bright pink colour gives the product a slightly feminine touch with the black contrasting the look. FORM AND SHAPE: The ear tips are in a circular ovoid shape while the housing plastic case has a truncated ovoid shape.
IDEALISATION
From the research, the initial concepts of the original design was found to be derived from human skeletal system and the night club ambience. Taking the same set of concepts new concepts were sketched out.

Warm colours are in demand, compared to the cool colours. According to research, a few people even collect ashtrays as a hobby. The users are attracted to aesthetically and functionally outstanding designs compared the regular designs. The most common shapes seen in the market are simple square, triangular, round and pentagon.
FINAL PROTOTYPES
The overall design has been inspired from the “Ankh”. The grooves provide a steady support for the cigarette. There is a space one end that serves the purpose of keeping the unused cigarettes. The ashtray is developed keeping in mind the comfort handling the vessel. It ergonomically fits into one’s hand. Inspired from the Egyptian pottery that was used to preserve the internal; organs of the deceased , it ironically suggests the ills of smoking.
The design is designed in such a way that enhances the grip around the receptacle. The depressing helps keep the ash inside the vessel and the embossed portion can be used to put off the cigarette. The inspiration derives from the “Winged gods and goddesses” of Egypt.”
The ashtray is supported by four supports. The main receptacle takes a simple form that has a deep base. It takes inspiration from the Egyptian symbol “Ankh”.
COLLECTION OF ART WORKS ‘DUENDE’
‘DUENDE’ is an erratic collection of paintings, that explores a variety of mediums and subjects. ‘El duende’ is the spirit of evocation. It comes from inside as a physical/emotional response to art. It is what gives you chills, makes you smile or cry as a bodily reaction to an artistic performance that is particularly expressive. Duende or tener duende ("having duende") loosely means having soul, a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity. For me, art and music is the best form of self expression. Through art one can create their own virtual, tangible realities. I love to work with very detailed sketches and I’m drawn to abstract and impressionist art. On a personal level, I’m inclined towards artworks that never fails to communicates to the onlookers.
