The seminar included presenting a paper, exhibition of Waste to Wealth products and a fashion show based on the theme. The presentation was on the theme, Waste to wealth – hand crafted and natural dyed Indian folk art and textiles. The use and incorporation of natural dyes has been prevalent in the Indian soils from time immemorial. The ancient Indian art and textiles are living proof to its common usage. With the passage of time, its application has been considerably reduced. However, some indigenous communities and folk artists still carry on the legacy of portraying their expressions and art through the beautiful medium of natural dyes. This paper was thus an amalgamation of references to their existing work.
