Ever ything all at once, Oscar-wise: ABC televises 95th movie awards

The movie business has changed a lot in recent years, but the Oscars remain a constant of it. Though more films have returned to theatricalonly releases than in earlier phases of the COVID-19 situation, the future of some theaters is in jeopardy and a significant number of them have closed. Still, there are enough releases and places to see them for the Academy Awards to have an impact on how they perform economically Jimmy Kimmel has his third stint as host of the ceremony as ABC broadcasts the 95th edition Sunday, March 12, from Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.

One never can be sure, but it seems unlikely that a year later, a repeat of what immediately became one of history’s most famous slaps will be delivered on the Oscar stage (unless someone does something along those lines to reference that moment in jest).
