On the eve of the famed Thanksgiving Day parade, viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible stories behind the floats, balloons, performances and bands on their journey to the streets of New York. While the rest of us confirm we still have a pair of stretchy pants to make it through the day, others are ensuring a morning of quality entertainment for the nation.

8 p.m. on WUNK Tutankhamun: Allies & Enemies

Nov. 4 marked the 100th anniversary of the opening of King Tut’s tomb. In this new two-hour special documentary series premiere, Egyptian archeologist Dr. Yasmine El-Shazly and photographer Mahmoud Rashad investigate Tut’s life and legacy, going beyond Tut’s tomb and treasures, instead seeking to share Tut’s story from his point of view and to unpack the short-lived human existence of the “Boy King.” They also use computed tomography (CT) scans to take a closer look at Tut’s burial.

8 p.m. on HIST Pawn Stars Do America

This week Rick, Corey, and Chum are in the City by the Bay — San Francisco — looking for deals. With their experts on-hand, the guys navigate uncharted waters as they’re hoping to sail home with plenty of new treasures. In between the event, they’ll sneak away to check out some vintage Italian vehicles, pinball machines, and a highprice San Francisco Giants collection at Oracle Park. Will they be bringing anything back to Vegas?

9 p.m. on WITN Saturday Night Live

Over the course of its many seasons, the iconic late-night program has created numerous Thanksgiving-related sketches that make you think tryptophan is just an old wives’ tale. From Adam Sandler’s “Thanksgiving Song” to Paul Simon delivering a monologue dressed as a turkey or even “Back Home Ballers,” there’s something for everyone who gets a little nostalgic this time of year.

9 p.m. on HBO Shaq

The series premiere episode “From Shaquille to Shaq,” showcases revealing interviews with Shaquille O’Neal, telling the story of a basketball legend unlike any other, whose largerthan-life personality transcended the sport, transforming him into a cultural icon. The documentary series chronicles his ascent to superstardom as a dominant force in the NBA.
