‘Gone but Not For gotten’ 2022: Farewell to some TV legends

Leslie Jordan: This much-loved sitcom veteran was co-starring in Fox’s “Call Me Kat” at the time of his passing.

Bob McGrath: This very friendly face often was musical while gently teaching lessons to the first couple of generations of “Sesame Street” viewers.

Tony Dow: “Gee, Beav.” The show was called “Leave It to Beaver,” but big brother Wally Cleaver also was a crucial part of it.

John Aniston: Jennifer’s father, who had a very long run as Victor Kiriakis on “Days of Our Lives,” received a Lifetime Achievement honor at last summer’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

Clarence Gilyard Jr.: The co-star of “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “Matlock” also had significant movie roles in “Top Gun” and “Die Hard.”

Vin Scully: One of sportscasting’s most recognizable faces and voices was as much a part of baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers as any player.

Anne Heche: This Daytime Emmy winner had recent roles on “Chicago P.D.” and “All Rise.”

Louie Anderson: In a variety of projects, this Primetime Emmywinning comedian made his mark.

Dwayne Hickman: “Dobie Gillis” was a popular romanticcomedy hero in the hands of this actor who became a network executive later

Howard Hesseman: An actual disc jockey earlier in his career, the actor drew on that experience to portray “WKRP in Cincinnati’s” Dr. Johnny Fever.

Kirstie Alley: “Cheers” and “Veronica’s Closet” were a couple of memorable television stops for this distinctively earthy two-time Primetime Emmy winner

James Caan: Following many successful films, this rugged actor came to series TV in “Las Vegas” and “Back in the Game.”

Ray Liotta: Though principally a movie actor, Liotta brought his trademark intensity to the police series “Shades of Blue” and earned a Primetime Emmy for an “ER” guest role.

Sidney Poitier: This esteemed Oscar winner brought his talent to TV in a number of projects including a sequel to “To Sir, With Love” (directed by Peter Bogdanovich, who died on the same day).

Nichelle Nichols: This “Star Trek” essential’s portrayal of Lt. Uhura was iconic in multiple ways ... and the series and movies will continue to make it so.

Larry Storch: Known for doing many comedic roles over the years, the actor’s Corporal Agarn on “F Troop” was his signature part.

Joe E. Tata and Denise Dowse: Two of “Beverly Hills, 90210’s” resident adults gave the show’s central younger characters some valuable life lessons.

Liz Sheridan and Estelle Harris: The actresses who played Jerry and George’s mothers were invaluable to “Seinfeld.”

Roger E. Mosley: Whenever the original “Magnum, P.I.” needed a helicopter ride, pilot T.C. was a handy pal to have.

David Birney: This accomplished actor married his “wife” on the sitcom “Bridget Loves Bernie,” Meredith Baxter (though they later divorced).
