Unfortunate;y, we had to cancel; out 2020 Fair due to COVID-19; but we are planning an even better event Our fair theme this year, “CELEBRATING 101 YEARS OF AGRICUL TURAL FUN.” sets the tone for the exciting things the fair staff has in store for you at the 101st Annual Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair. We are excited about our upcoming fair and the return of Powers Great American Midways for your enjoyment and entertainment. Corky and Debbie Powers join us in the excitement of providing one of the most modern mid ways in the fair business. Their midway consists of 35 thrilling rides, exciting games, and a variety of food and beverage op portunities. Once again, they are bringing some new rides with them. You do not want to miss this fabulous Midway this year. Please join us in welcoming them to Greenville.

In addition to all the exciting attractions, our fair management team provides FREE PARKING each and every day of our fair week (September 21 – September 26). Parking along the high way is prohibited. So bring your children, friends, and neighbors to our 101st Annual Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair. For the fourth year, we are introducing our Pitt County Fair Rock Stars. This is your chance to make your dreams come true by being a STAR on stage at our Karaoke Event. Come join the fun on Thursday night, September 23 at 7:00 pm. My goal is to continue to have the best local/regional fair in the state. We must work as a team in order to accomplish this. We have brought the Pitt County American Legion Fair to you. Now, YOU, the community, and Eastern North Carolina region citizens must do your part by participating in the Exhibit Hall, the contests, and attendance at the various FREE shows. Powers is bringing new rides for excitement on the Midway. He does this with pride to give your family a fun day. Join in the Scavenger Hunt and Games. Win some neat prizes, and claim the fame. Also, enjoy some surprises. We’re celebrating a huge event with all the fair sounds and sights. You’ll be glad you spent a day filled with excitement and delight. and it is true. Old things don’t last, But we will always provide the BEST FAIR for YOU.

1. No attendance if known to be ill or if experiencing or displaying any symptoms of illness, including: Cough, Chills, Fever, Short ness of breath or difficulty breathing, Muscle pain, Sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, etc.

2. Social Distancing, all must adhere to guidelines as provided by state and local government agencies. Exceptions are allowed for family members living in same household.

5. Previously entered items are not acceptable.

8. Only one entry per class per person will be accepted. Premiums will be paid for Exhibit Hall winners on Monday, September 2 , 3: 0 :30 p.m. No premiums will be paid after 60 days. Deteriorating produce will be discarded. Inappropriate or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. The fair reserves the right to expel any person from the grounds. Decisions of the judges will be final. No exhibitor shall be within hearing distance of any judge during judging exhibits. Violation of this rule may disqualify any exhibitors. The Fair shall not be liable for typographical errors in the Premium Catalog. The Fair may refuse to exhibit any work deemed offensive or inappropriate. Pets are not allowed on fair ground property. Outdoor events do not have rain dates and may be cancelled because of inclement weather. No food or drink shall be allowed in Exhibit Hall or livestock areas

2. In the event of severe weather which may cause a decrease in attendance and gate receipts, fair management reserves the right to award prizes at 50% of the listed premiums.

3. Management may close the fair any time it is necessary.

One Youth and one Adult winner will be selected from “Best in Show” to represent Pitt County at the NC State Fair in Raleigh October 1 -2 Entries will be entered for a$1,000 Grand Prize at the State Fair. An exhibitor number will be used throughout all departments. Pick up your exhibitor number at the registration desk before going to individual departments. Entries accepted Friday, September 1 :00-8:00 pm and Saturday, September from :00 am– :00 pm and Sunday, September 1 from 2 p m 5 p m. Exhibits will be released Monday, September 2 from 3 p m - 0 pm. Premium checks will be issued at this time. Livestock will be released Sunday, September 2 from 3 pm– 6:30 pm.

During Fair Week you can still buy wristbands and admission for the full price of $ .00. Credit Cards are ONLY ACCEPTED ONLINE and not at the gate or Powers Ticket Booths. MIDWAY RIDE WRISTBANDS are good until closing and are for sale inside the gate on the Midway TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY for $3 .00 each, or you may purchase ride tickets for an individual ride.

These exhibits will emphasize the economic, social, physical and recreational growth and development of boys and girls enrolled in 4-H. Only currently established and active 4 H club groups may exhibit an educational entry. (Five 4 H club members are identified as an organized group of youth ages 5 19 with officers and a planned program that is carried on throughout all or several months of the year.) Pre-registration is required. Each club unit must be registered and recognized as an active 4-H Club unit for the current year. Exhibits may be entered on Saturday September 1 , 10:00-5 pm. e Pitt County Fair is proud to showcase the many types of locally raised livestock. Producers may exhibit: cattle, horses, swine, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, or other domesticated fowl and livestock. All owners are responsible for feed and care of animals while at the fair. Ill-tempered and dangerous animals will not be allowed. All horses must have a current coggins paper. All sheep and goats must have an approved scrapie ID. All swine must have approved state ID tags. All Chickens must be inspected by NCDA on Tuesday, September 20 from 11-3 PM. All livestock must be on fair premises by 4PM September 20. Livestock may be taken home on Sunday, September 25 a er 3 PM. Exhibitors will receive a livestock pass to access their animals during fair hours. The Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair remembers Gene Coley who passed away this year. Gene was a member of the American Legion and a fair board member. He worked several years in the The Fair Manager and Staff deeply appreciate Gene’s dedication to the fair and extend love and prayers to the family.

Powers Great American Midways takes great pride in it’s safety, cleanliness and the over all appearance of their rides, food concessions and games. Each employee is respon sible for wearing a logo designed shirt and name tag which is obtained only after passing a drug test and background check. Drug tests are performed randomly throughout the season to maintain the strictest of standards. PGAM has a non-smoking policy for their employees on all of their midways. The show has been honored with the OABA “Circle of Excellence” award as well as the Pennsylvania Safety Award.
