“I bonded intensely with both the patients and staff, especially with two patients. Caring and learning how to make them smile, laugh (and even sing and dance!) - was an extremely transformative experience. My Spanish improved dramatically and I am extremely fluent now. I had a great experience in Costa Rica and could definitely see myself living there in the future and traveling with confidence in the region.” - Jusneet B. • Volunteer in Costa Rica

“India has been absolutely crazy--but definitely wonderful--so far…The trekking was really cool and the Ashram stay was really nice as well. We did yoga twice daily and were also able to get massages, mud packs, etc. during the day which was really well-timed to follow the trek. The food here has also been amazing…I’m going to be working with 7 AIDS orphans… so I will be able to spend a lot of time with them as well which is exciting. The facilities are really nice as are all of the staff that we met today, so I’m really looking forward to working there.” - Alyssa R. • Volunteer in India

”I must still be in the honeymoon phase of this whole experience, because the thrill of working all day at a task, and then to be able to sit back and see that you have actually done something, changed something, in some small way altered the world you live in – that’s pretty amazing.” - Charlotte R. • Outback Australia

group trips what better way to experience another country than with other like-minded people? Join one of Cultural Embrace by API’s group trips or request a customized itinerary specifically designed to fit you and your travel mates’ schedule, budget, interests, goals, and passion. Our expert advice and knowledge of destinations goes beyond sight-seeing. We specialize in integrating the traveler with the local communities for an authentic experience through educational, humanitarian and cultural activities. While we pre-arrange all travel logistics so you are able to maximize your time abroad, we also recognize the importance of independent time to explore and escape. Whether hiking to an active volcano by day and helping conservationists in Costa Rica preserve endangered sea turtles by night or traveling through China while learning how to cook traditional Chinese dishes, we know you will have a life transforming experience.
want to customize your own trip? Get a group (minimum 8 travelers for most destinations) together and let us know where you want to go, when you want to go, what you want to do…and we’ll do the rest! We will organize every detail including: airport arrival and transfer, accommodations, meals, ground transportation, service projects and donations, excursions, cultural and activities, English-speaking guides, and much more. We are able to tailor safe and comfortable programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and the Oceania. Contact us for professional ideas, opinions, and logistical arrangements.
want to travel for free? If you recruit 10 full-paying travelers on your trip, you will go for free (complimentary program fee, airfare not included).
”Cultural Embrace by API’s trips are so innovative and they provide such exceptional service. I have been impressed with each trip you have arranged, and how smoothly things have run, the capability of the local travel guides, and the overall enriching experience. In no way the typical, run-of-the-mill tour.” - Carolyn • Australia/New Zealand, Nicaragua and Ecuador
