URBAN PROTOTYPE
* Mesh Geometry _ Multi-Scalar formations The design methodology developed at PennDesign and the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design during one academic year (2006-2007) was applied and tested on a real site and program (proposed by the International Competition for the remodelling of the Football Stadium in Barcelona and its surrounding area). The multi-scalar nature of the prototypical mesh allows for the re-organisation of the urban field as well as the arrowing down in scale to get to the 1:1. As a final test, a sample of the mesh was f b fabricated d in PUR-Foam via CNC and d llaser-cut styrofoam and exhibited at the CoAC in Barcelona, in parallel to the official exhibit of the results of the Competition, won by Sir Norman Foster and partners.
