The Lincoln award, named after President Abraham Lincoln, was created in 2005 to “encourage teens to read for pleasure and to become lifelong readers.” The titles on this list are chosen by teachers and librarians for teens in grades 9-12.

Vote for your favorite in February/March 2025 at any APLD location or online! To vote for the 2025 Lincoln Award: Must be in grades 9-12 (or homeschool equivalent) and live in Illinois. Must have read or listened to at least 4 Lincoln nominees to be eligible to vote.
