2023 STAFF FAVORITES
Wolfwood by Marianna Baer This book had me grimacing with anxiety & dread - but in a good way! The narrative is so ominous & mysterious that I kept bracing to find out what terrible thing would happen next, but I was rooting for the main characters the whole time. The magical realism was perfect, blurring the lines of reality just enough.
Flannery C., Eola
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson Beautiful & creative, this book really sucked me in and left me wanting more of the characters, the world, and Margaret Rogerson.
AUDIO PICK! Phoebe M., Santori
The Infinity Particle by Wendy Xu This graphic novel was gorgeous and centered around some of my favorite questions: What does it mean to be a person? What’s the difference between AI & human intelligence? How can victims advocate for their own autonomy? How can respect be fostered in relationships? How can you help someone get out of a toxic relationship? The art is great, the ending is lovely, this was a great read.
Flannery C., Eola
Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross This story of star-crossed lovers, enchanted typewriters, and ancient gods at war had me up until 2 am finishing it. It broke my heart in the best way and I can’t wait for the sequel.
Becky C., Santori
Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes Legendborn, Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
My Monster Secret, Vol. 1 by Eiji Masuda Your Name. Vol. 1 by Makoto Shinkai I Want to Eat Your Pancreas by Yoru Sumino
