Welcome to our 2023 Staff Favorites reading list! These are the books that we loved last year and wanted to share them with the community. The books were chosen by library staff working in all areas of the library.
CHILDREN Give by Jen Arena A wonderful book about sharing what you have and how even little things can make an impact. The good you do comes back to you!

We hope you'll find some great reads and enjoy them as much as we did!
2023 STAFF FAVORITES The Lost Year by Katherine Marsh I loved this multigenerational story of a family affected by the little-known Great Ukrainian Famine that took place in the USSR between the two World Wars.

Meesha Makes Friends by Tom Percival I loved this book! Meesha doesn’t know how to make friends, but makes some out of found materials. Her creations actually help her to make a real-life friend.
The Eyes & the Impossible by Dave Eggers I didn’t like Dave Eggers in the 90s and I don’t usually like animal fantasy books. But it was recommended to me, so I tried it. The writing was fantastic and Ethan Hawke’s narration was hilarious and wonderful!
AUDIO PICK! Ratna A., Santori
You Are a Story by Bob Raczka I love the idea of encouraging kids to share their story with others and to listen to other people’s stories as well. My child was engaged with this book as well & was drawn in by the wonderful illustrations!
