How to use CheckIllinois public record search for Libraries
Searching
To search by Name
Make sure you are on the Name tab above the search box.
Enter the first and last name of the person you wish to look up. *Note: Location isn’t necessary, but will help narrow down the right person.
To search by Phone
Make sure you are on the Phone tab above the search box.
Enter the phone full 10-digit phone number associated with the person or business. *Note: Not all phone numbers appear on public records, so you may need to search for the person or business another way.
To search by PIN
Make sure you are on the PIN tab above the search box.
Enter a valid 14-digit PIN, or property index number. If the PIN is only 10 digits, you will need to add 4 digits to the end. Do not uses spaces or hyphens. Example: 12345678900000.
To search by Business Name
Make sure you are on the Business Name tab above the search box.
Enter the business name as you know it.
To search by Street Address
Make sure you are on the Street Address tab above the search box.
Enter the street address as you know it. *Note is helpful to leave off the street suffex (ie: Ave, St., Blvd).

Results Screen
This page will show you the following information:
Type of records found: (At the top of the screen). You can click on any type of record (Ie: Bankruptcies, Business Licenses, Criminal Felony) to jump you to those specific records found for the criteria you typed in.
Records. Records will be bundled into the type of record, which you can see at the top of each category list. Record date indicates the date Record Information Service added it to their databases. Click Add to Cart to add individual records to your final results screen.
Checkout:
First, click Add to Cart next to the record(s) you wish to view. Then click View Cart to see a summary of the records to see which records you selected, or just click View Records (Public Library) to see a page which prompts you to select how you’d like to view the records (online, or emailed PDF).

How would you like to View Your records?
If you would like to receive your records via email as well as view online, then type in your email address, check the box for I have read and agree with the Disclaimer Statement and click the button for Place Your Order.
*Note: There is no requirement that you must have an email address in the email confirmation box. If you choose not to receive the emailed PDF, simply check the Disclaimer Box, and click Place Your Order to view records instantly online.
*Note: Clicking on View Cart will take you back to the previous screen, which shows you the individual records you have selected.

View Your Records
This screen shows you one individual record. From this screen you can:
Look up additional public records on particular fields, by clicking the CheckIllinois logo in the field.
Look at the next record in your results, by using the top navigation page numbers or arrows.
Print Page to print the record you are currently looking at.
Download Current Records (PDF) to download all the resulting records as a PDF. You can save them onto your desktop for emailing or printing later.
Related Record Counts: This shows you the number of other available records related to the person or address.
Additional Record Links: For some types of public records, we may offer additional helpful links. Ie: If the record is a Mortgage, you may see a link for MLS Zip Comps, Fannie Mae Lookup, or Freddie Mac Lookup. *Note: this service takes you to a new third party website of which is Record Information Services is NOT affiliated.
Map: Below the individual record you are looking at, you can see a map of the address relating to the record.
