Bright Directions* Ages 5-12 Monday (7/18) 11 a.m. Santori Library - 125/126 This program is a great opportunity for children to learn about mindfulness techniques through stories and crafts!

Traveling Off the Beaten Path* Grades 6 - 11 Friday (7/8) A family take home kit featuring places to visit in the United States. Kit will include facts, activities, recipes and a craft.

DIY Bird Feeder Craft Ages 7 - 12 Tuesday (7/19) 2 p.m. Eola Road Branch - Children's Program Room Make your own bird feeder made out of a recycled milk carton.

Hiking Buddies Ages 5 - 10 Friday, July 08 2022, 2:00pm - 2:45pm Santori Library - 139 Hurrell Storytime Room Make a special hiking buddy for your next hike or walk around town.

Stroller Fitness* Thursday (7/21) 9:30 a.m. Eola Road Branch - Large Meeting Room Each free workout is comprised of strength training, cardio and core restoration, all while entertaining the little ones with songs, activities and fun!

Early Readers Book Club – Yasmin* Grades K - 2 Saturday (7/9) 2 p.m. Eola Road Branch - Program Room Read about your favorite characters and engage in exciting activities! This program does not teach children how to read. Going On a Bear Hunt Ages 4 - 7 Tuesday (7/12) 2 p.m. Santori Library - 139 Hurrell Storytime Room Read the story and then act it out with us. Following that we will make a craft to use to reenact the story at home.

Marshmallow Painting Ages 5 - 7 Wednesday (7/27) 11:30 a.m. Eola Road Branch - Children's Program Room Come make a work of art with a marshmallow paintbrush! Float a Boat Ages 6 - 11 Thursday (7/28) 2 p.m. Santori Library - 139 Hurrell Storytime Room Using the materials provided design a boat that you think will float. Test it out and try again if not happy with the results. Supplies and water for testing will be provided.

Teen Movie Night: Turning Red Thursday (7/7) 4:30 p.m. West Branch - Meeting Room Mei Lee is a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian student who, due to a hereditary curse, 'poofs' into a giant, red panda whenever she experiences strong emotion (which is practically ALWAYS). Snacks will be provided. DIY Vinyl Stickers and Decals Tuesday (7/12) 3 p.m. Santori Library - 224 Dolan Family Teen Program Room Come design and make your own vinyl decals- perfect for laptops, water bottles, and more! Test Your Metal: Metal Stamping Keychains Wednesday (7/13) 3 p.m. Eola Road Branch - Large Meeting Room Grab a mallet and get ready to stamp some metal! All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed. Safety will be enforced when using the mallet. Record Painting for Teens* Thursday (7/14) 4 p.m. West Branch - Meeting Room Join us as we upcycle vinyl records into works of art! Where in the World Are You: VR Experience Wednesday (7/20) 6:30 p.m. Eola Road Branch - Large Meeting Room Join us to play the popular, virtual reality game Somewhere. Get dropped somewhere in the world and try to figure out where you have landed! This game is very similar to Geoguessr, but in 3D. Naturalization 101: Becoming a U.S. Citizen* Thursday (7/21) 6 p.m. Virtual via Zoom A representative from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will conduct a virtual informative session on the naturalization process. Introduction to Raspberry Pi* Saturday (7/23) 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Santori Library - 125/126 This full-day workshop will focus on how to create simple cyber-physical systems to solve practical problems using the Raspberry Pi computer system. Lunch will be provided. Create Customized Presentations - Skill Builder* Saturday (7/23) 10 a.m. Virtual via Zoom & Facebook Live Learn how to create and edit slides, insert images and clipart, and run a slideshow using Microsoft PowerPoint. Community Forum: Pre-Arrest Diversion Tuesday (7/26) 5:30 p.m. Santori Library - John C. Dunham Atrium and Virtual via Zoom & Facebook Live Join the Kane County Pre-Arrest Diversion team and its partners at a community forum to learn more about pre-arrest diversion and plans to expand implementation in Kane County. Community Blood Drive Saturday (7/30) 10 a.m. Santori Library - 125/126 Donated blood benefits local hospitals- can you help?! Walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are appreciated. All donors must show a photo ID prior to donating.

APLD Plays Twitch - We're playing: Tabletop Simulator Monday (7/18) 6 p.m. Virtual via Twitch Tune in and watch us play video games on our Twitch channel! Tabletop Simulator is the only simulator where you can let your aggression out by FLIPPING THE TABLE! This game is not rated and should be appropriate for all ages.
