As New Zealand’s leading window solutions company with a 50-year track record and a nationwide network of almost 80 manufacturers, we have the kind of scale needed to ensure robust and consistent quality control. By championing better choices and building practices, we believe we can shape a better world. As part of our ongoing commitment to this, we continue to support the New Zealand Green Building Council as a major corporate sponsor.

We want to lead the industry in a really positive way – to reduce our waste to landfill, to innovate in better ways to package our product, and to uphold our social responsibility. We’re inspired to initiate change and create progress that makes these choices more accessible for all. Mikayla Plaw, Executive Director, Sustainability for Profile Group

Our umbrella company, Profile Group, own all the major steps in our process, from aluminium extrusion (INEX) to specialised manufacture (APL and APL Manufacturing) and doubleglazing (AGP) to in-house surface finishing (Colourworks and Finex) and delivery, courtesy of a nationwide distribution fleet (APL Direct). With greater awareness of our impact and increasing investment into a low carbon building industry, we take this responsibility seriously and recognise we can all be doing more.

Circular economy Profile Group have developed a Responsibility Roadmap based on principles of a circular economy. Simply put – we aim to design out waste wherever possible, circulate our materials in closed loops of reuse/recycling, and regenerate living systems for the long-term health of people and the planet.

A healthy home is warm, comfortable, cost efficient to run and good for the environment, not to mention your family will experience greater wellbeing and productivity.

Living in an unhealthy home can have significant learning, health, and financial impacts on a family. APL want to bridge this gap for healthier New Zealand homes by developing window and door products that are accessible and impactful in any home or building.

Design considerations that contribute towards a healthier home:

There is no one single solution to creating a healthy home, it requires a systemised

Another consideration is our suite of passive ventilation products, Aerovent, Sashvent and Ventient to allow an unoccupied home to breathe, even with the windows and doors closed, helping the home to reach a recommended healthy air change. In addition to thermally efficient windows and doors, consider high performance glass options for a complete window solution. A combination of thermally efficient window and door products helps to reduce a home’s energy consumption, putting less demand on New Zealand’s power grid and reducing the environmental footprint of your home.

Our ThermalHEART products are 35% more thermally efficient than standard doubleglazed windows making spaces warmer and drier while reducing condensation on aluminium frames.

Based on a premium series from Europe by Kömmerling and optimised for Kiwi conditions, Klim Series is the ultimate performer when it comes to keeping out the winter cold. Being made of highly durable 100% recyclable uPVC, Klima Series windows and doors are environmentally friendly and can also withstand the harshest sunlight.

Improves airflow with less visual intrusion.

An additional nylon thermal insulator is stitched into the core of our aluminium window system to separate hot and cold areas, insulate the home, and reduce heat loss.

A Klima Series window system is rated a maximum 6 Energy Stars under WEERS (Window Energy Efficiency Rating System) when used with high-performance glazing.

Sashvent Delivers background ventilation through the bottom of an opening window.

Ventient Naturally automated trickle ventilator suitable for highend residential and commercial projects.

High performance glass options to enhance a healthy home Glazing choices are an important option to consider. Glass can enhance the way your home looks and feels, but it also adds to the warmth and thermal efficiency of your home. Architectural Glass Products (AGP) is a brand-new state of the art doubleglazing manufacturing business focused on supplying high quality products with exceptional service to our customers. AGP was established by Profile Group to help provide the APL manufacturer network with a total window solution and the most advanced glass technology and quality to our customers.

AGP have two key product offerings: The AGP System An insulated, high-performance system using the best components and technology available in New Zealand, featuring argon gas and ATS Architectural Thermal Spacer®. These components work together to reduce heat loss and heat absorption through your glazing.

Solux-E® A virtually invisible low emissivity (Low-E) coating added to The AGP System, Solux-E reduces the amount of heat that passes through the glass while still letting natural light through, improving the thermal efficiency of a home. It offers year-round comfort and a warmer, drier and healthier home. Solux-E with The AGP System is the all-in-one option to help you get the most out of your glazing. Explore more from AGP

NZ Made APL began in the heart of the Waikato in 1971, by a local family. Fast forward to today and we’re still family-owned and Waikato based and have since built a nationwide network and several respected brands, Altherm Window Systems, First Windows & Doors and Vantage Windows & Doors. Every part of our supply chain has a local We are proud to have Declare labels for our Residential Series, Metro Series, and APL Architectural Series products. For us it means we can collaborate better with our suppliers and our customers to recognise how we can design and build for the future to include durability, longevity and provide a pathway to repurpose our products. A Declare label answers three questions: Where does a product come from? What is it made of? Where does it go at the end of its life? See our Declare label

We have an ongoing partnership with Sustainable Coastlines which has led to our Profile Group team planting 16,000 trees over three Riperian Planting events, over 800,000 trees at Takapoto Estate and an increasing number of plants in the ground onsite at the Hautapu Campus.

We are on a journey with Toitū Envirocare to achieve carbon zero certification, and we have recently competed a total waste audit that included two of our fabricator partners.
