HOPE Multiplies the Harvest Someone has said that the light shines most brightly in a dark place. And in every part our world, hope is the light that keeps people going. Even in the darkest times, we have seen the light of Hope, over and over again, multiply the harvest. If you are like me and are following the news about some difficult part of the world, it’s easy to think that hope is in short supply. In our ministry headquarters of Philippines, the War on Drugs seems overwhelming. We see hope shines a light of the opportunity to reach a new harvest field! Since the new president’s law was enacted, more than 7,000 drug users and dealers have died in this country—this is unprecedented. He has spoken plainly to the Church that these people need its help. In the last few days, we’ve had a team from Global Teen Challenge teaching workshops to local Christians on how to lead and disciple people out of addiction into a new life in Christ. At AP Media, we believe that everyone needs a story, a model, that shows there is hope. This month, we are producing the first of several stories of former addicts and gang leaders like Jerry (find his story on page 8) whose lives have been turned around by the power of the gospel. HOPE! These stories, along with Living Free discipleship training, will be that light in a dark place and offer a way forward. At AP Media, we are in the business of multiplying HOPE, so all may know the SOURCE of it! . April/May 2017 e-Issue

HOPE XMultiplied “God ... can you change me?” That simple prayer and following release from prison began Jerry’s journey as a messenger of HOPE, Jerry grew up in a squatter community. He became the leader of a gang. Violence and addiction were commonplace in his life, and eventually, he ended up in jail. On a spiritual retreat with his brother, God touched his life. From leading a gang in spreading drugs, he has become a community leader, has a church in his home, and is a respected person in his squatter area. Jerry is training to be a pastor. He is currently ministering to many addicts in the Philippines who want freedom from addiction as a result of the War on Drugs. Over 800 thousand have come forward to request rehabilitation, and the government has asked for the Church to step in. This is a huge open door! Your support this month will help us tell Jerry’s HOPE story—the first of many STORIES OF HOPE to supplement drug rehabilitation workshops arranged by Global Teen Challenge in the Philippines. Because of your faithful partnership, we can share the message that new life and freedom from addiction are possible through Jesus Christ. That’s HOPE MULTIPLIED. [8.] AP Media MISSION / apmedia.org

HIS MESSAGE, TRANSLATED Media is multiplying the hands and feet of the gospel like never before, but still, the harvest is much larger. However, we know from Romans 10:14, “... how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” (NIV). And further, how can they hear if they don’t understand? It’s why AP Media has invested in making many culturallyrelevant video resources available in multiple languages: English, Chinese, Tagalog Bahasa for Indonesia, Mongolian. Nepalese, Cambodian languages. We have even found those impacted by our programs provide bootleg translations of our materials to reach their homelands. We are continually working to expand the reach of our resources to many places the name of Jesus still cannot go. Thank you for your support to see His Message, Translated, to reach Asia Pacific and beyond.

Expanding the Broadcast INDONESIA RADIO —from Bill Snider—
In March, I met with three key leaders in Indonesia about bringing a Christian message to a needy part of that country. Over a decade ago, there was a war in the Maluku Islands. The conflict between radical Islam and Christian believers centered around the city of Ambon. For months, there was fighting, killing and a no-man’s land that separated the two groups. Today, Ambon is peaceful, but the scars of conflict remain. My friends approached the local government in Ambon asking if they could apply for a Christian radio station to bring a message of harmony and hope in this part of the country. Amazingly, the government has given them a green light to apply for the permit and our AP Media team has begun consulting with them on building this radio station Amazing! HOPE multiplied. The light shining bright in a dark place.! April/May 2017 e-Issue [13.]

You matter and your story matters. This sentiment circles the heartbeat of Cambodia’s new media ministry True Media. Following the inspiration of the AP Media, the ministry has the desire to Bring True Story through Media. True Media released their first devotional short film modeled after the DigiTracts series in March. We are so excited to be involved in training media ministries like True Media! Watch the first installment in this series that asks the question, “What really defines your life?” Your $75 gift helps us train one media missionary.

HOPE in Jesus—it’s the Greatest Gift PRAY AN HOUR Asia Pacific has many people who have never heard the Message of the gospel. As we produce media tools and train media missionaries we engage in spiritual warfare daily.
We’ve discovered that time is better invested, finances go further, and fewer problems occur when people are praying consistently and fervently! We need you to commit to pray for just 2 minutes a day for the next 30 days specifically for Asia Pacific and the ministry of AP Media!
GIVE AN HOUR To respond to the War on Drugs in the Philippines alone, we
want to produce resources that tell true stories of drug abusers who have found freedom in Christ. Instead of hopelessness, the Church can offer hope. This is a prime opportunity for the body of Christ to step up. To meet the need, your faithful prayer and steady monthly support are required. Your partnership allows us to engage this opportunity while not losing sight of the ministry’s momentum in other countries like Myanmar and Indonesia and in the Middle East. Please help us be fully equipped to meet these challenges in the year ahead: $50 will help support an hour of ministry, $400 a day, $2,500 a week, and so on. Any investment, no matter the size, will multiply God’s work across Asia Pacific. Also, if you have extra resources this month, please consider a special offering on top of your normal monthly commitment today to help invest in our ministry as we focus on making the Easter DigiTracts and future shorts. This $750 production will help us share the HOPE of the cross so all may hear! You can mail or make your donation securely today at apmedia.org/give or by texting APMEDIAGIVE to 95577 (U.S. only). God is opening many doors to reach Asia Pacific with the gospel. Thank you for helping us walk through them with your faithful support. [20.] AP Media MISSION / apmedia.org.
