“I am teaching children with impaired hearing. Teaching them is very hard because it takes a lot of talent and skill. The U-Kids material can help these children learn a lot of good values. Teachers do not have to sign with this material because it is very visual, very concrete. When you use technology or media they pay attention.”

INDONESIA UPDATE “In places like Indonesia, which is the fourth largest nation in the world, there are very few movies that have good, solid Christian content that have been developed that could work in their culture.” —Bill Snider, APMedia Director Thank You APMedia Partners for your investment in Indonesia! We have an immediate project need for $4,500 (U.S. dollars) for voice dubbing our film Rebound into Bahasa. November/December 2014 [7.]
[6.] APMedia MISSION / apmedia.org.
Bahasa-dubbed movie, The Messenger, will be completed by end of June. This movie speaks to that fear of the spirit world. It’s going to be very, very attractive and will really give them another tool in presenting the gospel. We have a friend approaching a Jakarta Cable TV network that has expressed interest in broadcasting the film into urban Indonesian areas, where Cable TV has the greatest reach. Another APMedia film project, Rebound, deals with youth issues. We currently have some people reviewing it for voice-dub as well. Sports, youth and some of the issues tend to translate across cultures. If we get the go ahead, voice dubbing this resource will involve an immediate production need of $4,500. Radio has been another strategic focus for APMedia in the country of Indonesia. In fact, about 18 years ago, APMedia focused on training Pat and Linda Cochenour with radio programming that has gained incredible popularity in the country both on Christianand Muslim-owned radio stations. The programs focus on women, health — college students and young professionals and are broadcasted for free. To produce these radio shows it requires a $2,500 monthly investment from our APMedia partners. Additionally we are considering retooling our one-minute videos,
Digitracts, which are focused on youth issues. The videos may be played and shared on smartphones or tablets. Digitracts are evangelistic thought starters. It’s a way to build a bridge of conversing and sharing the gospel without handing out a printed paper tract. A strong focus for APMedia will be putting video content into the hands of people who can share it with people who have never heard the gospel—reaching into the Muslim world. PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS OPEN DOOR
1. God will raise up more Christian media producers and videographers in Indonesia who are able to tell the stories of people coming to Christ. 2. The distribution and use of the movies The Messenger and Rebound into Bahasa. 3. $4,500 (U.S. dollars) to voice-dub Rebound into Bahasa. 4. Support for the ongoing radio ministry across Indonesia. 5. Foundational funding for APMedia in Manila. It costs $50 an hour to provide for our operations funding. We need this to grow our ministry in Indonesia and throughout Asia. Thank you for your prayer and support of APMedia’s strategic opportunities in Indonesia! Summer 2015 [7.]

“THE MESSENGER (Ang Sugo) is a spiritual warfare movie. To many, we have become accustomed to horror movies where people are possessed. These things are true, but movies tend to portray that the power of darkness is stronger. In this movie we show God is in control, and the powers of darkness have already been defeated.” —Erick Dela Cruz

Ah Khin is a young man who came to Manila from his home of Myanmar to learn how to minister to his own people through digital media. We have enjoyed the blessing of training him in video production, and he is now back in his home country sharing the love and saving grace of Christ with his people.

BEHIND THE SCENES Bro. Ah KHIN on mission in myanmar [10.] APMedia MISSION / apmedia.org.

APMEDIA: Tell me about the changes you are seeing in Myanmar as it relates to media. AH KHIN: The use of media is rising in Myanmar. Now people are using Facebook, and other media tools, as well as the internet in their homes and on their phones. This is totally new. Just in the last two years or so, people have become very interested in using cellphones and other media technology. It’s a big change. APMEDIA: As a Christian, how can you use media to speak to the people of Myanmar? AH KHIN: There is not a lot of content available in the Burmese language, so what APMedia does to produce content in Myanmar will be very useful. Most of the Christian people are introducing people to Christ by producing their own YouTube videos of sermons and testimonies and sharing them on Facebook. APMEDIA: What are some resources that you have the desire to produce? AH KHIN: My big desire is to be able to produce testimony videos. I have done two so far. One video is about one of my friends who was a drug addict. He was changed by the message of Jesus Christ. He experienced many blessings, including being reunited with his father.
APMEDIA: How do you see the digital media being able to influence the Buddhist world for Jesus Christ? AH KHIN: We can share the message of the gospel, and illustrate that even a good person can change from being a nonbeliever who has good character, to a follower of Christ who has been born again. APMEDIA: How did God speak to you about wanting to do this type of ministry, and how has APMedia helped you discover and hone your talents? AH KHIN: When I was younger, I spent most of my time in the church music ministry. When I was doing those things, I saw that people can easily relate to others using media tools and I became very interested in using media to spread the message of salvation. God opened the door. APMedia trained me and they continue to mentor me on what media can do in Myanmar. They are giving me experiences in video production, lessons on editing videos and how to shoot with a camera. This makes me confident to do the work needed in Myanmar.
