GRAND MASTER’S NEWSLETTER
Grand Installation Brethren, I trust that you and your loved ones are all safe and well. As you are all aware, the recent COVID 19 outbreak and subsequent lock-downs made it necessary to postpone our Grand Installation from the usual August format to a new October date. With the lock-down continuing, we now need to have a further postponement, but at least we can be assured from the Premier and the Office of Chief Health Officer, that with the improved vaccination rates, there will be some certainty about planning from here on in. Finally, there now seems to be a “light at the end of the tunnel”. While it is envisaged that we will reach our 70% vaccination target sometime in mid-October, it is also important that we give ourselves enough time to re-organise and plan. Our SMC General Manager already has an approved Safety Plan to resume both Lodge and Commercial activities, and, having maintained regular contact with his staff, he is now moving to welcome them back into the building. SMC is well positioned to recommence its activities in the Sydney Business District, and it is intended that the Grand Lodge Installation will be one of the first activities to take place. Having now secured a new date for the Grand Installation, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the 2021 Grand Installation and associated events. The Grand Installation will take place in the Sydney Masonic Centre from 12 to 14 November 2021. The Grand Secretary will send a blast email to all members and Lodge Secretaries confirming the booking details. The details will also be on our website, and the reverse of this newsletter. I look forward to welcoming you all to this much anticipated event.
