Creating an ideal outdoor space

YOUR garden should be a space you can use all year round, and the trees on your property play a large part in that. Big trees can make it feel dark and enclosed particularly in autumn and winter, while smaller trees can fail to fill a larger space or provide the right screening or shade cover. When landscaping your outdoor spaces, you should try to plant larger trees towards the back of the garden with smaller shrubs forward towards the house. This can give structure and screening for your garden but still let light in all year round. If your garden has already been landscaped, then now is a great time to speak to the experts about how to prune your trees and shrubs to lift and lighten your space. Careful pruning will reduce the size of your trees, help to keep them healthy, making them easier to care for and let that all important light in. It is also worth noting that large trees can pose a risk if planted too close to your house, so getting them checked and pruned regularly is ideal. As arborists we can help consult on your landscaping, so that you can get the best out of your garden. We can also discuss how you can work with what may already be in place, to open the space up and let the light in. We want to help you create an outdoor space you can enjoy all year round. Your garden is an important part of your home and we want you to love it.
