It’s a dynamic system treating muscle and connective tissue and is a very useful hands-on treatment for soft tissue, using the myofascial techniques. “It works by stimulating various soft tissue areas, empowering the body’s own healing resources.” The Bowen Technique is a holistic treatment, stimulating circulation, encouraging lymphatic and venous drainage, promoting assimilation of nutrients, eliminating toxins, increasing joint mobility and improving posture. “Relief is often obtained after the first session, and many patients only need two or three treatments one week apart. The treatments are effective through clothing, and sessions usually last between 20 and 40 minutes.” Having her clinic in her home allows Kathleen to accommodate shift workers and out-of-town visitors, when convenient to them.
