Pregnancy Ultrasounds

Dating scan –

this is to give you a due date, (Estimated date of delivery for your pregnancy) and to confirm your due date, when you are unsure

Nuchal Translucency scan ( First Trimester Combined Screening)

This scan must be performed between 11 and 14 weeks. This is risk assessment is made by combining the nuchal translucency measurement with your age, and other factors like the blood test. Your midwife will explain the test and will give you the result.

Morphology Scan -

Is performed at 19-20 weeks, and is performed to assess the growth of the baby and it’s development. This is the time we will be able to tell whether your baby is a Boy or Girl.

Growth scan -

to check that your baby is growing appropriately, on a normal growth curve.

Upper Abdominal Ultrasound

An abdominal ultrasound assesses the liver, aorta, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen and kidneys. It is often the first examination performed when someone is having abdominal problems.

Renal Ultrasound

A renal ultrasound assesses your bladder and kidneys. A full bladder allows us to see the bladder wall well and hydrates the kidneys, and the how well your bladder empties.

Pelvic Ultrasound

The pelvic ultrasound assesses the uterus and ovaries. Unless clinically inappropriate an internal (transvaginal scan) is considered best practice as part of the pelvic assessment.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

The fine detail of muscles and tendons and ligaments can be assessed our high frequency ultrasound probes.

Vascular Ultrasound

Our state of the art machines assess blood flow in the arteries and veins, using Doppler ultrasound. This is good for arterial blockages and venous clots and varicose veins.

Small Parts Ultrasound

Ultrasound is very good at assessing the soft tissues of the breast, glands and testes.

Steroid Injections

Ultrasound can be used to “guide” needles into parts of the body, such as tendons sheaths and bursae making a quick and accurate treatment.
