Φίλες και φίλοι του Απόλλωνα, Σας χαιρετώ από μία ακόμη ευρωπαϊκή έκδοση του επίσημου Match Program της ομάδας μας. Ο Απόλλωνας για ακόμη μια σεζόν βρίσκεται στα Playoffs Ευρωπαϊκής διοργάνωσης της UEFA και για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία του θα αντιμετωπίσει τους πρωταθλητές Ελλάδας, τον Ολυμπιακό Πειραιώς.

Έγιναν πολλά τις τελευταίες ημέρες στην ομάδα μας με τον αποκλεισμό από το Champions League, την αντικατάσταση του προπονητή, την κατάκτηση του 4ου Super Cup της ιστορίας μας αλλά και τις νέες προσθήκες ποδοσφαιριστών.

Ότι κι αν έγινε, προχωράμε.

Ο αποψινός αγώνας είναι πολύ σημαντικός, καθώς το αποτέλεσμα του θα διαμορφώσει σε μεγάλο βαθμό τις πιθανότητες πρόκρισής μας σε όμιλο του Europa League, κάτι το οποίο αποτελεί το μεγάλο στόχο της ομάδας μας.

Απέναντι μας μια πολύ έμπειρη ομάδα, με δεκάδες τίτλους στο παλμαρέ της και τεράστιες επιτυχίες στις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις. Μπορείτε να διαβάσετε περισσότερα για την ιστορία και τα επιτεύγματα του Ολυμπιακού στις επόμενες σελίδες.

Ο Απόλλωνας ωστόσο, είναι μαθημένος σε τέτοιου είδους αγώνες, αφού αναμετρήθηκε με εξίσου σπουδαίες ομάδες στο παρελθόν. Είμαστε σίγουροι ότι ο κόσμος στις εξέδρες θα στηρίξει με όλες του τις δυνάμεις την προσπάθεια των ποδοσφαιριστών

Friends of Apollon,

Greetings from another European edition of the Match Program. For one more season, Apollon is participating in the Playoffs of an UEFA European competition and for the first time in its history, will face the Greek champions, Olympiacos Piraeus. The last few days have been eventful for our club as they consisted of the elimination from the Champions League, the replacement of the headcoach, the conquering of the 4th Super Cup in our history as well as the additional transfers of new players. Regardless of what happened, we’re moving on.

Tonight’s match is very important as its result will affect to a big percentage our chances of qualifying to the Europa League group stage which is one of the main targets of our team.

We have to face a very experienced team, with dozens of trophies under their belt and huge success in European competitions. You can read more about the history and achievements of Olympiacos in the following pages.

Apollon, however, has the experience of competing against equally great teams in the past. We are sure that the fans in the stands will support the football players with all their heart and help them in order to bring the best result for our team. Good luck to us!

Πρώτες μέρες στην ομάδα μας... Πώς κύλησαν οι πρώτες προπονήσεις στο Κολόσσι;

Πάντοτε όταν ξεκινάς μια νέα δουλειά σε μια νέα ομάδα, χρειάζεται χρόνος προσαρμογής αλλά οι πρώτες μου εντυπώσεις είναι θαυμάσιες.

Οι ποδοσφαιριστές είναι πολύ φιλόδοξοι κάτι που μου δίνει δύναμη και πίστη ότι μαζί μπορούμε να πετύχουμε πολλά πράγματα.

Ποιοι είναι οι πρώτες σας εντυπώσεις αναφορικά με το προπονητικό κέντρο και τις εγκαταστάσεις της ομάδας; Είναι καταπληκτικές, όπως αρμόζουν σε μια μεγάλη ομάδα με στόχους κι απαιτήσεις. Διαθέτουμε ότι χρειαζόμαστε για να δουλέψουμε όπως πρέπει. Επίσης το προσωπικό που εργάζεται εδώ είναι πολύ αφοσιωμένο και κατανοεί πλήρως το τι θέλουμε να πετύχουμε στον σύλλογο. Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος για τα όσα έχουμε εδώ.

Ο πρώτος αγώνας της καριέρας σου στον Απόλλωνα κόντρα στον Ολυμπιακό. Πως θα προσεγγίσετε το παιχνίδι; Είναι ένα μεγάλο παιχνίδι για τα playoffs του Europa League και έχουμε μια μεγάλη ευκαιρία και τεράστιο κίνητρο για να κερδίσουμε και να αγωνιστούμε στους ομίλους της διοργάνωσης. Πρόκειται για μια σπουδαία και ποιοτική ομάδα αλλά θα τα δώσουμε όλα και θα αντι-

μετωπίσουμε τον Ολυμπιακό με σκοπό να πάρουμε το θετικό αποτέλεσμα. Διαθέτουν ένα ποιοτικό ρόστερ με πολύ γρήγορους επιθετικούς γι’ αυτό θα πρέπει να είμαστε ιδιαίτερα προσεκτικοί στην άμυνα. Είναι μια ομάδα που ακόμη ενισχύεται, πριν από λίγες μέρες πήραν κι άλλους παίκτες και γι’ αυτό θα πρέπει να έχουμε κοντά τις γραμμές μας και να είμαστε απόλυτα συγκεντρωμένοι στην άμυνα, ενώ όταν επιτιθόμαστε να είμαστε γρήγοροι και με κάθετο ποδόσφαιρο. Οφείλουμε να δείξουμε τον καλύτερο μας εαυτό για να πάρουμε το αποτέλεσμα που θέλουμε στην έδρα μας.

Αναμένεται εντυπωσιακή ατμόσφαιρα το βράδυ στις κερκίδες του γηπέδου. Τι θέλετε να πείτε στους οπαδούς της ομάδας μας; Είναι πολύ σημαντικό να έχουμε τους οπαδούς δίπλα μας και να μας δίνουν ενέργεια με την στήριξή τους. Θέλω να συμπεριφερθούν άψογα και πως έχουμε την ευκαιρία για να ζήσουμε μια καταπληκτική και ιστορική νύκτα για τον σύλλογο. Ελπίζουμε να έχουμε μια ξεχωριστή βραδιά για τον Απόλλωνα και να φτάσουμε ένα βήμα πιο κοντά στους ομίλους. Θέλω να μας στηρίξουν μέχρι το τέλος και ευελπιστώ όταν σφυρίξει ο διαιτητής τη λήξη να είναι περήφανοι για την ομάδα τους.

First days in our team... How was the first training sessions in Kolossi?

As always when you start a new job in a new team it takes time to adjust but my first impressions are great. Football players are very ambitious, which gives me power and faith that together we can achieve many things. What are your first impressions of the team’s training center and facilities?

They are amazing, as becomes a great team with objectives and targets. We have what we need to work properly. In addition, the staff who work here are very committed and fully understand what we want to achieve at the club. I’m very happy with what we have here.

The first match of your career in Apollon is against Olympiacos. How will you approach the game?

It is a big game, for the Europa League playoffs and we have a great opportunity and a huge motivation to win and compete in the groups of the competition. This is a great and quality team but we will give everything

and face Olympiacos with the ambition of getting the positive result. They have a quality roster and fast attackers, so we will have to be very careful in defence. It is a team that is still getting stronger, a few days ago they transferred new players and that is why we will have to be compact and be completely focused, while when we attack we must be fast and with vertical football. We have to show our best to get the result we want at home. It is expected that there will be an impressive atmosphere in the evening in the stands of the stadium. What do you want to say to the fans of our team?

It is very important to have the fans by our side and give us energy with their support. I want them to behave perfectly and that we have the opportunity to experience an amazing and historic night for the club. We hope to have a special night for Apollon and get a step closer to the group stage. I want them to support us until the end and I hope that when the referee blows the final whistle they will be proud of their team.

Ολυμπιακός - Η ιστορία

Συνίσταται εν Πειραιεί υπό τον τίτλο ‘’Ολυμπιακός Σύνδεσμος Φιλάθλων Πειραιώς’’ Σωματείον, ούτινος σκοπός είναι η ανάπτυξις της σωματικής αγωγής παρά τη νεολαία και η κατά πάντα φίλαθλον τρόπον εξύψωσις αυτής.

Είναι άγνωστο αν εκείνη η παρέα που έκανε την ιστορική συνέλευση στην ταβέρνα του Μοίρα, το 1925, και αμέσως μετά εξέδιδε καταστατικό, μέρος του οποίου λίγο πριν διαβάσατε, είχε έστω και την παραμικρή ιδέα ότι έγραφε ιστορία. Στόχος, όπως είπε ο Μιχάλης Μανούσκος, ήταν να δημιουργηθεί ένας Σύλλογος που θ’ αποτελούσε έμπνευση για όλους τους Έλληνες. «Ολυμπιακός» το όνομα και ο δαφνοστεφανωμένος έφηβος το έμβλημά του.

Τελικά δεν αποτέλεσε μόνο πηγή έμπνευσης ο Ολυμπιακός. Έγινε κάτι πολύ παραπάνω. Ήταν ο λόγος που οι οικονομικά ασθενέστεροι περπατούσαν στο δρόμο με το κεφάλι ψηλά. Περήφανα. Δεν ήταν απλά η ομάδα τους αλλά τρόπος ζωής. Ένας σύλλογος που προέρχεται από τον κόσμο,

πορεύεται μαζί του και καταλήγει σ’ αυτόν. Ο Ολυμπιακός δεν

είναι μία, ακόμα, ομάδα. Είναι πάνω από το ίδιο το παιχνίδι. Πιο

έντονος και από τον ενθουσιασμό της νίκης. Τρόπος ζωής. Παράδειγμα για τους μαχητές της καθημερινότητας. Δεν παραδίνεται.

Ξεπερνάει τα εμπόδια. Είναι Ολύμπιος. Είναι η ίδια η Ελλάδα. Είναι Ιδανικό. Είναι Θρύλος. Γεννήθηκε στον Πειραιά, το 2ο μεγαλύτερο λιμάνι της Μεσογείου. Χιλιοτραγουδήθηκε στο: Όσο και να ψάξω δεν μπορώ να βρω άλλο λιμάνι. Ταξιδεύει σε όλο τον κόσμο τα Ολυμπιακά ιδανικά. Εμπνέει τους Έλληνες. Είναι στο μυαλό κάτι μαγικό. Η κληρονομιά είναι μεγάλη. Υποχρέωση να συνεχίσει ο Θρύλος σε ρότα επιτυχιών. Μεγάλη είναι και η ευθύνη για να μεταλαμπαδευτούν στις επόμενες γενιές τα Ολυμπιακά ιδανικά. Ο Ολυμπιακός είναι Θρύλος. Η δική μας Ολυμπιακή οικογένεια. Είμαστε νικητές. Ποτέ δεν σταματάμε. Ποτέ δεν το βάζουμε κάτω. Συνεχίζουμε να ονειρευόμαστε!

The history of Olympiacos

It is formed in Piraeus under the title “Olympiacos Association of Piraeus Fans” Association, whose purpose is the development of physical education of the youth and for the elevation of sportsmanship for every fan.

It is unknown if that group that held the historic assembly in the tavern of Moira, in 1925, and immediately afterwards issued a statute, part of which shortly before you read, had even the slightest idea that it was writing history. The goal, as Michalis Manouskos said, was to create an Association that would be an inspiration to all Greeks. “Olympiacos” the name and the laurel-crowned teenager his emblem.

In the end, Olympiacos was not only a source of inspiration. Something much more had been done. It was the reason why the economically weaker walked down the street with their heads held high.

Η ΠΟΡΕΙΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΥΡΩΠΗ / The route to the Playoffs 12

Από τον 3ο προκριματικό του Champions League ξεκίνησε το ευρωπαϊκό οδοιπορικό του Απόλλωνα Λεμεσού για την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2022-23. Η ομάδα μας αποκλείστηκε από τη Μακάμπι Χάιφα με συνολικό σκορ 2-4 μετρώντας μία νίκη και μία ήττα.

Βαριά ήττα στο Ισραήλ

Στον πρώτο αγώνα η ομάδα μας ηττήθηκε στο Σαμί Όφερ στη Χάιφα με 4-0 με τους ισραηλινούς να προηγούνται με 1-0 στο ημίχρονο και να πετυχαίνουν άλλα τρία γκολ στο β’ μέρος.

Οι γηπεδούχοι προηγήθηκαν με αυτογκόλ του Πεμπέρν στο 38’ ενώ ο Μοχάμεντ στο 54’ και 62’ πέτυχε δύο τέρματα και το τελικό σκορ διαμόρφωσε στο 79’ Πιερό. Στο 60’ αποβλήθηκε με δεύτερη κίτρινη κάρτα ο Βουκασίν Γιοβάνοβιτς.

Apollon Limassol’s European journey for the 2022-23 season began from the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. Our team was eliminated by Maccabi Haifa with a total score of 2-4 calculating one win and one loss.

Heavy defeat in Israel

Our team had a bad start to this season after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat against Maccabi Haifa at Sami Ofer Stadium in the first leg of the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The home team came on the pitch stronger and with a great performance created a lot of problems for our team.

In the 38th minute, Peybernes with an own goal gave the lead to the Israeli team after an effort by Haziza from the left. In the 54th minute, Mohamed scored 2-0 with a powerful aerial volley, while the same footballer in the 62nd minute with a close header «wrote» the 3-0. In the meantime, Vukasin Jovanovic was sent off with a second yellow card in the 60th minute. In the 79th minute, Piero created the final score with a header.

το θαύμα στο ΓΣΠ

Τη νίκη με 2-0 πήρε η ομάδα μας στον επαναληπτικό αγώνα με αντίπαλο τη Μακάμπι Χάιφα για τον 3ο προκριματικό γύρο του Champions League και με συνολικό σκορ 4-2 αποκλείστηκε από τη συνέχεια του θεσμού, ωστόσο συνεχίζει στη διοργάνωση του Europa League.

Τα γκολ για την ομάδα μας πέτυχαν οι Ογκέντα στο 19’ με πανέμορφο πλασέ εκτός περιοχής και Κολ με αριστερό δυνατό σουτ στο 27’.

Almost a miracle at GSP

Our team won 2-0 in the second leg match against Maccabi Haifa for the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League and with aggregate score 4-2 we were eliminated from the next round of the competition, however we continues in the Europa League.

The goals for our team were scored by Ongeda in the 19th minute with a beautiful placement outside the area and Coll with a powerful left shot in the 27th minute.

Ο Πειραιάς είναι πόλη της Αττικής και ο σημαντικότερος λιμένας της Ελλάδας και της ανατολικής Μεσογείου. Ο Δήμος Πειραιώς αποτελεί τον τρίτο μεγαλύτερο δήμο και οικισμό της Ελλάδας, με πληθυσμό 175.697 ενώ η έκτασή του είναι 10,9 τ.χμ. Η ευρύτερη περιοχή του Πειραιά αποτελείται από τον ομώνυμο δήμο και ακόμα έξι δήμους-προάστια, με συνολικό πληθυσμό 466.065 κατοίκους και έκταση 50,4 τ.χμ., και αποτελεί το νοτιοδυτικό τμήμα του πολεοδομικού συγκροτήματος της Αθήνας που συγκροτεί την περιφέρεια πρωτευούσης. Το κέντρο του Πειραιά απέχει περίπου 12 χιλιόμετρα από το κέντρο της Αθήνας της οποίας αποτελεί ιστορικό επίνειο, ενώ ο δήμος αποτελεί την έδρα της Νομαρχίας Πειραιώς, που περιλαμβάνεται στην Υπερνομαρχία Αθηνών-Πειραιώς.

Ο Πειραιάς στην σύγχρονη εποχή είναι το μεγαλύτερο βιομηχανικό κέντρο της χώρας, ενώ διαθέτει τον μεγαλύτερο λιμένα της Ευρώπης και τον τρίτο στον κόσμο σε επιβατική κίνηση, που τον καθιστά ως το μεγαλύτερο εμπορικό κέντρο της ελληνικής οικονομίας, ενώ μέσω αυτού συνδέεται ακτοπλοϊκά με τα νησιά του Αιγαίου.

Στη Μαρίνα Ζέας (Πασαλιμάνι) αγκυροβολούν μερικά από τα πιο

εντυπωσιακά γιοτ και ιστιοπλοϊκά σκάφη, ενώ η ακτή είναι γεμάτη με εστιατόρια, ταβέρνες, μπαρ και εμπορικά καταστήματα. Στο Μικρολίμανο μπορεί να δει κάποιος ψαροκάικα, μικρά σκάφη και πολυτελή γιοτ ενώ θα απολαύσει φρέσκο ψάρι και θαλασσινά στις φημισμένες ταβέρνες του.

Ο Πειραιάς δεν είναι όμως μόνο τα λιμάνια του. Πανέμορφες συνοικίες, όπως η Καστέλλα θα εντυπωσιάσουν τον επισκέπτη του. Κομψή και γραφική, με στενά σοκάκια και επιβλητικά αρχοντικά, κτισμένη σε λόφο με μαγευτική θέα. Στην Καστέλλα βρίσκεται και το Βεάκειο υπαίθριο θέατρο, που φιλοξενεί πλήθος πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων κάθε καλοκαίρι, αλλά και το Σηράγγιο σπήλαιο, η πανάρχαια υπόγεια στοά που κατασκεύασαν οι πρώτοι κάτοικοι του Πειραιά.

Στο κέντρο της πόλης, στην πλατεία Κοραή, μπορεί να θαυμάσει κανείς το εντυπωσιακό νεοκλασικό κτίριο του Δημοτικού Θεάτρου του Πειραιά, αρχιτεκτονικό στολίδι και σήμα κατατεθέν της πόλης, που φιλοξενεί σπουδαίες καλλιτεχνικές εκδηλώσεις ολόκληρο τον χρόνο.

Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus with a population of approximately 180,000. It is one of six districts and covers an area of 34.87 km2. Located on the southern coast, Limassol stretches around westward to the Paphos district, bordering with the district of Larnaca on the east and with Nicosia on the north. In addition to the recognized popularity as a tourism destination, Limassol is also an administrative and business centre, a port, a resort, the centre of the wine industry and home to many archeological sites.

The vivacious city centre, seems to offer a journey through time where the University with its bustling young students aiming for a brighter future is just a few streets away from the old market and ancient castle which link us to the past. Gracefully blending old with new continues, as across the seafront one can appreciate the cosmopolitan side of Limassol with its contemporary business structures and modern apartment buildings while only several kilometers away one can find charming areas with cobblestone streets, quaint buildings with overhanging terraces under which there are a profusion of small shops, restaurants and cafes.

The city of Limassol has a rich history that goes back to around the 2nd century B.C. The city is situated between the ancient cities of Amathous to the east and Kourion to the west. Limassol was inhabited since the very ancient years and tombs discovered there date back to around the 2nd century B.C., while oth-

ers date back to around the 8th and 4th centuries B.C. The few ancient finds that were discovered show that a small settlement existed there which did not manage to develop and flourish.

The city, in the 10th century, was known as Nemesos and the Byzantine emperor, Constantine Porphyrogenitus, refers to this city with this name. The history of the city is mainly known for its events in 1191 A.D., which marked the end of the Byzantine Rule in Cyprus. Limassol was then surrendered to the Frankish Empire of the Lusignan Kings of the medieval Cypriot kingdom. For about three centuries (1192-1489), Limassol experienced a remarkable period of prosperity. In 1489 A.D., the Queen of Cyprus, Ekaterini Cornaro, surrendered Cyprus to the city of Venice. This lasted until the Turkish Occupation took place in 1570 A.D. Then the British conquered Cyprus in 1878, while in 1960 significant changes followed the liberation of Cyprus, which contributed to the cultural and artistic life of the city. Schools, theatres, art galleries, music halls and football clubs were formed and played a significant role in the cultural life of Limassol.

The city of Limassol was developed much after the Turkish invasion of 1974. Luxurious hotels, restaurants and numerous entertainment clubs were built and thus the city soon became a significant touristic centre.

Προϊστορία με Ελληνικές Ομάδες Prehistory with Greek teams

Παρά το γεγονός ότι ο Απόλλωνας φτάνει στην 110η συμμετοχή του στις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις, η αποψινή είναι μόλις η τρίτη φορά που θα αντιμετωπίσει ομάδα από την Ελλάδα, με καμία εξ’ αυτών να είναι με την ομάδα του Πειραιά. Την πρώτη φορά που αντιμετωπίσαμε ελληνική ομάδα ήταν το μακρινό 1998 όταν αναμετρηθήκαμε με τον Πανιώνιο για τον Β’ γύρο του Κυπέλλου Κυπελλούχων. Στον αγώνα στη Νέα Σμύρνη ο Απόλλωνας ηττήθηκε με 3-2 ενώ στο Τσίρειο στάδιο με 0-1.

Η δεύτερη φορά ήταν πρόπερσι, στις ιδιαίτερες συνθήκες που επικρατούσαν λόγω της πανδημίας το 2020, όταν οι προκριματικοί αγώνες των ευρωπαϊκών διοργανώσεων ήταν μονοί. Despite the fact that Apollon reaches its 110th participation in European competitions, tonight is the third time that we will face a team from Greece with none of them being against Olympiacos.

The first time we faced a Greek team was in 1998 when we play against Panionios for the second round of the Cup Winners Cup. In the match at Nea Smyrni, Apollon lost 3-2 while in Tsirio Stadium with 0-1.

The second time was in 2022, in the special conditions that prevailed due to the pandemic when the qualifying matches of the European competitions were single. On 17/09/2020 our team was drawn to face OFI in Heraklion, prevailing 0-1 thanks to the goal of Attila Salay. On the contrary, Olympiacos Piraeus was called upon to face 10 matches with Cypriot teams having a record of five wins, two draws and three defeats. Cyprus is located in the northeast of the Mediterranean, at the intersection point of Europe, Asia and Africa. However, weather is not the only attractive characteristic of the island. The people of Cyprus are equally famous, for the warm and friendly welcoming they provide to their visitors.

In May, 2004, Cyprus became officially a member of the European Union and in 2008 entered the Eurozone, thus connecting Europe and Middle East and the rest of the world.

Having been recognized as the ultimate business and financial centre in the wider area, the island has competitive advantages in sectors such as tourism, provision of consulting services, banking and insuring services, investments and construction business, shipping and telecommunications.

Δηλώσεις στο Match Program του πρώτου αγώνα κόντρα στον Ολυμπιακό Πειραιώς παραχώρησε ο εκ των αρχηγών της ομάδας μας Βαλεντίν Ρομπέρζ, ο οποίος δήλωσε ότι με στόχο τη νίκη, θέλουμε να αυξήσουμε τις πιθανότητες πρόκρισης για τον επαναληπτικό της Αθήνας.

Απόψε δίνουμε ένα σημαντικό αγώνα για τα Playoffs του UEFA Europa League. Πώς προσεγγίζετε το παιχνίδι;

Βρισκόμαστε ένα βήμα πριν τους ομίλους της διοργάνωσης και θέλουμε πολύ να καταφέρουμε να παίξουμε στο Europa League. Σε αυτό το επίπεδο όλες οι ομάδες είναι πολύ ποιοτικές και δεν θα έχουμε καθόλου εύκολο έργο απόψε. Γνωρίζουμε την ποιότητα του Ολυμπιακού και το τι μπορεί να πετύχει στον αγωνιστικό χώρο. Σεβόμαστε τον αντίπαλο αλλά δεν θα τον φοβηθούμε. Έχουμε πίστη στην ομάδα μας και στις δυνάμεις μας. Θα μπούμε στον αγωνιστικό χώρο, να κάνουμε το παιχνίδι μας και με τον κόσμο στο πλευρό μας θα προσπαθήσουμε να πάρουμε το αποτέλεσμα αυτό που θα μας αυξήσει τις πιθανότητες μας ενόψει του επαναληπτικού στην Αθήνα.

Στο πρώτο παιχνίδι στο Ισραήλ η ομάδα έχασε κατά κράτος. Στον επαναληπτικό η ομάδα ήταν αρκετά καλύτερη και ακόμη καλύτερη στο παιχνίδι του Super Cup. Οι τελευταίες εμφανίσεις σας δίνουν περισσότερη αυτοπεποίθηση;

Βέβαια. Η ομάδα χρειαζόταν περισσότερα παιχνίδια και χρόνο για να μπορέσει να αποκτήσει τον ρυθμό που απαιτείται σε αυτού του είδους τα παιχνίδια. Σιγά σιγά η ομάδα δείχνει ότι βρίσκεται σε καλό δρόμο και είμαστε σίγουροι ότι θα βελτιωθούμε ακόμη περισσότερο στο μέλλον. Σίγουρα η κατάκτηση του Super Cup ενίσχυσε κι άλλο την αυτοπεποίθηση μας κι αυτό θα φανεί στον αγωνιστικό χώρο. Στόχος μας για απόψε είναι να πάρουμε τη νίκη που θα μας δίνει το δικαίωμα πρόκρισης στους ομίλους.

Tonight we are playing an important match for the Playoffs of the UEFA Europa League. How do you approach the game?

We are one-step closer to the group stage of the competition and we really want to be able to play in the Europa League. At this level all the teams have a lot of quality and we will not be an easy task tonight. We know the quality of the opponent and what they can do on the pitch. We respect Olympiacos but we are not afraid of them. We have faith in our team and in our strengths. We will get on the pitch, do our game and with the fans on our side we will try to get this result that will increase our chances of the second leg in Athens.

In the first game in Israel the team lost by 4-0. In the 2nd leg we were much better and even better in the Super Cup game. Do the latest performance give you more confidence?

Certainly. The team needed more games and time to be able to get the pace required in this kind of games. Game by game the team is showing that it is on the right track and we are confident that we will improve even more in the future. Certainly, winning the Super Cup further boosted our confidence and this will be reflected on the pitch. Our goal for tonight is to get the victory that will put us in a good position in order to qualify for the groups.

Ο Απόλλωνας Λεμεσού αγωνίζεται για τελευταία φορά στις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις μακριά από τη Λεμεσό. Η ομάδα μας δήλωσε ως έδρα το Γήπεδο ΓΣΠ στην πρωτεύουσα Λευκωσία, το οποίο είναι το μεγαλύτερο και πιο σύγχρονο γήπεδο της Κύπρου.

Κτίστηκε το 1999, είναι κατηγορίας 4 και έχει χωρητικότητα 22.829

θέσεων. Οι διαστάσεις του γηπέδου είναι 105mX68m και ο φωτισμός του 1500 Lux.

GSP Stadium

This season will hopefully be the last season where we host European games away from Limassol. Apollon stated as home groud GSP stadium, given that it is the most modern stadium in Cyprus.

Built in 1999, is a category 4 stadium and can seat up to 22.829 people. Its dimensions are 105mX68m and its flood lighting is 15000 Lux.
