Φίλες και φίλοι του Απόλλωνα, Σας χαιρετούμε από ακόμη μια συλλεκτική έκδοση ενόψει της 106ης
αναμέτρησης της ομάδας μας στις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις. Ο Απόλλωνας συμμετέχει για ένατη διαδοχική χρονιά στις διοργανώσεις της UEFA και το σχετικό ρεκόρ συνεχίζει να διευρύνεται, αφού από την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2013-2014, το όνομα του συλλόγου βρίσκεται στις κληρώσεις της ευρωπαϊκής ομοσπονδίας.
Σημερινή αντίπαλος η Σλοβάκικη Ζίλινα για την οποία μπορείτε να διαβάσετε περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες στις επόμενες σελίδες του προγράμματος αγώνα. Η σημερινή αναμέτρηση σηματοδοτεί επίσης και την επιστροφή του κόσμου στα γήπεδα, μετά από δέκα μήνες απουσίας λόγω των κυβερνητικών μέτρων για τον περιορισμό της πανδημίας.
Η φετινή προσπάθεια είναι πολύ ιδιαίτερη, καθώς εκτός των συνθηκών που όλοι βιώνουμε με τον Covid-19 και τις απροσδόκητες απουσίες οι οποίες μπορεί να προκύψουν σε όλες της ομάδες, υπάρχει και η ιδιαιτερότητα της νέας εποχής στον Απόλλωνα.
Η νέα σεζόν βρίσκει την ομάδα μας με πολλά νέα πρόσωπα στο ρόστερ αλλά και στο τεχνικό επιτελείο, σε μια νέα προσπάθεια ανανέωσης, χωρίς ωστόσο να γίνονται εκπτώσεις στους διαχρονικούς στόχους της ομάδας.
Ξεκινάμε λοιπόν το ευρωπαϊκό μας ταξίδι από τον Β’ προκριματικό γύρο της νεοσύστατης διοργάνωσης UEFA Europa Conference League, με αποκλειστικό στόχο την πρόκριση και να είναι όσο πιο μακρύ γίνεται.

I greet you with another official match program in view of the 106th match of our team in European competitions. Apollon FC participates for the ninth consecutive year in UEFA competitions since the beginning of the streak in the 20132014 season.
Today’s opponent is the MSK Zilina of Slovakia, for which you can read more details in the following pages of the match program.
Today’s match also marks the return of our fans back to the stadiums after a ten-month absence due to the governmentimposed restrictions.
This season finds Apollon with many new faces on the roster as well as in the technical staff in an attempt to achieve our team’s objectives.
We start our European journey from the 2nd qualifying round of the newly established UEFA Europa Conference League with the only purpose of qualifying, making our journey as long as possible.

«Ανυπομονούμε για τον πρώτο επίσημο αγώνα της χρονιάς! Είναι ένα ιδιαίτερο παιχνίδι, αφού πρόκειται για τον πρώτο αγώνα στον οποίο θα επιστρέψουν οι οπαδοί στο γήπεδο και είμαστε χαρούμενοι που θα τους δούμε στις εξέδρες. Είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα μας δώσουν την απαιτούμενη ενέργεια και ώθηση.
Το βασικό στάδιο της προετοιμασίας δυστυχώς δεν πήγε όπως το περιμέναμε. Ακυρώθηκε δύο φορές η πτήση μας για Αυστρία όπως και κάποια φιλικά, λόγω των περιστατικών του Covid 19 που είχαμε στην ομάδα μας. Ωστόσο, είμαστε αισιόδοξοι και κατάλληλα προετοιμασμένοι για τη νέα σεζόν και ήδη η ομάδα έχει εξελιχθεί και βελτιωθεί μέσα από τις προπονήσεις.
Δουλέψαμε πολύ σκληρά τις τελευταίες εβδομάδες και θα πρέπει να συνεχίσουμε με τον ίδιο τρόπο, για να αποκτήσουμε την εκρηκτικότητα που θέλουμε. Οι ποδοσφαιριστές μας πρέπει να επιδείξουν νοοτροπία νικητή, το πάθος και την εμπειρία τους στον αγωνιστικό χώρο για να πετύχουμε το ζητούμενο.
Παρακολουθήσαμε αρκετά παιχνίδια της αντιπάλου μας και τους αναλύσαμε πολύ καλά. Παρουσιάστηκαν πολύ έτοιμοι στον πρώτο γύρο και γνωρίζουμε ότι θα έχουμε ένα δύσκολο αγώνα. Ωστόσο, από την πλευρά μου, θεωρώ ότι είναι σημαντικότερο να εστιάσουμε στις δικές μας δυνάμεις και δυνατότητες αλλά και στο δικό μας στιλ παιχνιδιού».

Our first team coach Mr. Zorniger, shared his opinion on the first official game of the season, for the UEFA Conference League. Mr. Zorniger made a special reference to the return of our beloved fans to the stadium following a 10-month absence due to Covid-19, as well as the difficulties, which occurred during the pre-season period. The coach also spoke about the challenge that is MSK Zilina.
“We are looking forward to play the first official game of the season.
Of course, it’s a very special game because we will have our beloved fans in the stadium after almost 10 months. I am quite sure it will be a very emotional moment for everyone involved.
The pre-season was much more difficult than we expected since we had to cancel some friendly games due to Covid-19. Nevertheless, we feel well-prepared and I can already see the development of my team as we progress.
We worked very hard the last couples of weeks and we have to continue the same way to be agile on the pitch. The boys have to display their winner mentality, their passion and act smart on the pitch in order to be successful.
We have already watched several games of MSK Zilina in order to analyze them. They performed very well in the first round and we know that we are going to have a tough game. But in my point of view, it’s more important to focus on our own strengths and on our way of playing”.

Η ιστορία της Zilina The history of Zilina
Η ημερομηνία η οποία καθορίζεται ως το σημείο γέννησης της ομάδας της ZsTK Zilina είναι το έτος 1908 με την ίδρυση της οργάνωσης: «Ο σύλλογος των αθλητών της Zilina». Η ομάδα δημιουργήθηκε στην πόλη της Ζίλινας, η οποία βρίσκεται Βόρεια της Σλοβακίας. Ο σύλλογος έχει και το ψευδώνυμο “Zltozeleni” που σημαίνει «κίτρινο-πράσινοι» που είναι τα βασικά χρώματα της ομάδας.
Το γήπεδο της ομάδας είναι το στάδιο Ποντ Ντουμπνόμ το οποίο ονομάστηκε από το λόφο Duben, δίπλα στον οποίο βρίσκεται. Το όνομα του σταδίου σημαίνει κυριολεκτικά «Στάδιο κάτω από το Duben Hill». Το αρχικό στάδιο χτίστηκε το 1941, αν και το έδαφος είχε χρησιμοποιηθεί από την ίδρυση του συλλόγου το 1908. Από το 2002, κυρίως λόγω των απαιτήσεων της UEFA, ο σύλλογος πρότεινε εκτεταμένη ανακαίνιση του σταδίου. Πλέον το γήπεδο είναι χωρητικότητας 11 χιλιάδων φιλάθλων. Το Stadion pod Dubnom ήταν επίσης ένας χώρος που φιλοξενεί διεθνείς αγώνες της εθνικής ομάδας ποδοσφαίρου της Σλοβακίας έως το 2016, όταν το φυσικό γρασίδι αντικαταστάθηκε από τεχνητό γρασίδι.
The date set as the starting point of the ZsTK Zilina team is the year 1908 with the establishment of the organization: “The club of the Zilina Sportsmen”. The team was created in the city of Zilina, located in Northern Slovakia. The club also has the nickname “Zltozeleni” which means yellow-green which are the basic colors that characterize the team.
The team stadium is the Pod Dubnom Stadium named after the Duben Hill, next to which it stands, the name of the stadium literally means “Stadium under Duben Hill.” The original stadium was built in 1941 although the land had been used since the club was founded in 1908. Since 2002, mainly due to UEFA requirements, the club has proposed an extensive renovation of the stadium. The stadium now has a capacity of 11,000 seats. The stadium Dubnom was also a venue for the Slovakian national football team’s international matches until 2016, when natural grass was replaced by artificial turf.

Η Zilina κέρδισε επτά φορές το πρωτάθλημα της Σλοβακίας (2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2017) και μια φορά το κύπελλο το 2012.
Σε Ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο, οι μεγαλύτερες επιτυχίες της Zilina ήταν τη σεζόν 2015-2016, όταν στα play-off του Europa League στον αγώνα ενάντια στην ισπανική Bilbao, ενώ έχανε (0-2) έκανε τη μεγάλη ανατροπή και κερδισε με σκορ 3-2. Ακόμη στον 3ο προκριματικό γύρο ενάντια στην Vorskla, στην πόλη της Poltava ενώ έχανε (1-3), στο τελευταίο λεπτό κατάφερε και πάλι να ανατρέψει το σκορ και έτσι προκρίθηκε στον επόμενο γύρο.
Τα τελευταία χρόνια, η καλύτερη ευρωπαϊκή πορεία της Zilina ήταν στο UEFA Champion League της σεζόν 2017/18, όταν προκρίθηκε στη δεύτερη φάση όπου αντιμετώπισε και αποκλείστηκε από την Κοπεγχάγη (1-3 στο γήπεδο της και 2-1 στη Δανία).
Zilina won the Slovakian championship seven times (2002,2003,2004, 2007,2010,2012,2017) and once the cup in 2012.
At European level, Zilina’s biggest successes were in the 2015-2016 season, when in the play-offs of the European League in the match against the Spanish team Bilbao while losing (0-2) to the Spanish sports club, they were overthrown and won ( 3-2). Still in the 3rd qualifying round against Vorskla, in the city of Poltava while losing (1-3), in the last minute there was a reversal and so they advanced to the next round.
In recent years, Zilina’s best European run was in the UEFA / Champion League of the 2017/18 season, when it qualified for the second group stage where they faced and was eliminated by the Danish team FC Kobenhavn (1-3 at home, 2-1 in Copenhagen).

Η Zilina βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της βορειοδυτικής Σλοβακίας -στις εκβολές των ποταμών Vah, Kysuca και Rajcianka-. και είναι η τέταρτη μεγαλύτερη πόλη της Σλοβακικής Δημοκρατίας. Η πρώτη αναφορά στο έδαφος της Ζίλινας έγινε το 1208 και αναφέρεται ως επικράτεια της Ζίλινας. Ο Βασιλιάς Κάρολος Ι. Ρόμπερτ του Αντζού παραχώρησε στην πόλη οικονομικές ελευθερίες το 1321.
Κυρίαρχο κτίριο της πόλης είναι η μπαρόκ Εκκλησία του Αποστόλου Παύλου με δύο πύργους και το μοναστήρι Καπουτσίνων που υπάρχουν από τα μέσα του 18ου αιώνα. Βρίσκονται στην πλατεία Marianske Namestie σε σχήμα τετραγώνου με τις τυπικές στοές ενώ το Παλαιό Δημαρχείο στη γωνία της πλατείας έχει υποστεί πολλές ανακατασκευές και η σημερινή του εμφάνιση είναι από το 1890.
Η πλατεία St. Mary’s, μια αστική προστατευόμενη περιοχή από το 1987, αντιπροσωπεύει την ιστορική καρδιά της Zilina. Λόγω του τετραγωνικού σχήματος περίπου 100χ100m και των στοών, δημι-
ουργεί μια απαράμιλλη ατμόσφαιρα. Υπάρχουν πολλοί μύθοι για την πλατεία της Αγίας Μαρίας. Ένας από αυτούς λέει για μυστικούς υπόγειους χώρους που συνδέουν τα κτίρια στην πλατεία. Ένα ανεπίσημο λογότυπο της πόλης είναι η θέα από την πλατεία Andrej Hlinka στην εκκλησία της Αγίας Τριάδας (καθεδρικός ναός) με κιγκλιδώματα.
Το κέντρο της πόλης είναι μια από τις μεγαλύτερες και πιο όμορφες πεζοδρομημένες ζώνες στη Σλοβακία με πολλά εστιατόρια και κομψά καφέ.
Η Zilina έχει υποστεί δυναμική ανάπτυξη που έχει επιταχυνθεί από την επένδυση της KIA Motors Slovakia. Limassol is the second largest city of Cyprus with a population of approximately 180,000. It is one of six districts and covers an area of 34.87 km2. Located on the southern coast, Limassol stretches around westward to the Paphos district, bordering with the district of Larnaca on the east and with Nicosia on the north. In addition to the recognized popularity as a tourism destination, Limassol is also an administrative and business centre, a port, a resort, the centre of the wine industry and home to many archeological sites.
The vivacious city centre, seems to offer a journey through time where the University with its bustling young students aiming for a brighter future is just a few streets away from the old market and ancient castle which link us to the past. Gracefully blending old with new continues, as across the seafront one can appreciate the cosmopolitan side of Limassol with its contemporary business structures and modern apartment buildings while only several kilometers away one can find charming areas with cobblestone streets, quaint buildings with overhanging terraces under which there are a profusion of small shops, restaurants and cafes.
The city of Limassol has a rich history that goes back to around the 2nd century B.C. The city is situated between the ancient cities of Amathous to the east and Kourion to the west. Limassol was inhabited since the very ancient years and tombs discovered there date back to around the 2nd century B.C., while others date back
to around the 8th and 4th centuries B.C. The few ancient finds that were discovered show that a small settlement existed there which did not manage to develop and flourish.
The city, in the 10th century, was known as Nemesos and the Byzantine emperor, Constantine Porphyrogenitus, refers to this city with this name. The history of the city is mainly known for its events in 1191 A.D., which marked the end of the Byzantine Rule in Cyprus. Limassol was then surrendered to the Frankish Empire of the Lusignan Kings of the medieval Cypriot kingdom. For about three centuries (1192-1489), Limassol experienced a remarkable period of prosperity. In 1489 A.D., the Queen of Cyprus, Ekaterini Cornaro, surrendered Cyprus to the city of Venice. This lasted until the Turkish Occupation took place in 1570 A.D. Then the British conquered Cyprus in 1878, while in 1960 significant changes followed the liberation of Cyprus, which contributed to the cultural and artistic life of the city. Schools, theatres, art galleries, music halls and football clubs were formed and played a significant role in the cultural life of Limassol.
The city of Limassol was developed much after the Turkish invasion of 1974. Luxurious hotels, restaurants and numerous entertainment clubs were built and thus the city soon became a significant touristic centre.

CYPRUS The pearl of the Mediterranean
Cyprus is located in the northeast of the Mediterranean, at the intersection point of Europe, Asia and Africa. From the dawn of history, Cyprus consists one of the most interesting places of the area, with a rich cultural history. Ancient Greeks and the period of the Byzantine Empire have left a strong heritage, that nowadays, any visitor can visit and admire.
Cyprus is bordering with Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt. The north part of Cyprus has been occupied by Turkey since 1974. In 1983, after violating the Charter of the United Nations, Turkey proceeded into declaring the so-called «Turkish Democratic Republic of Northern Cyprus» that until today it is only recognised by Turkey. Cyprus is gifted with golden beaches, primeval forests and other wonderful natural landscapes. The environment of the island is now among the healthiest of the world, free of the pollution and other side-effects of the industrial counties. As far as criminality is concerned, it is almost non-existent.
Cyprus enjoys a wonderful Mediterranean climate. Apart from the rainfall period between November and March, Cyprus is constantly sunny. The average temperatures range from 8°C (42°F), during the coldest month, December, to 35°C (96°F) during the warmest month, which is August. However, weather is not the only attractive characteristic of the island. The people of Cyprus are equally famous, for the warm and friendly welcoming they provide to their visitors.
In May, 2004, Cyprus became officially a member of the European Union and in 2008 entered the Eurozone, thus connecting Europe and Middle East and the rest of the world.
Having been recognized as the ultimate business and financial centre in the wider area, the island has competitive advantages in sectors such as tourism, provision of consulting services, banking and insuring services, investments and construction business, shipping and telecommunications.

Απόψε εδώ στο «ΑΕΚ Αρένα» η ομάδα μας κάνει πρεμιέρα στη νέα αγωνιστική περίοδο με την ευρωπαϊκή αναμέτρηση με την Ζίλινα. Πρόκειται για δύο πολύ δύσκολες αναμετρήσεις απέναντι σε μια πολύ ικανή ομάδα, με αρκετές εμπειρίες από τις ευρωπαϊκές διοργανώσεις. Σαφέστατα ο βαθμός αγωνιστικής ετοιμότητας δεν είναι ο ύψιστος, ωστόσο το προηγούμενο διάστημα δουλέ ψαμε αρκετά, παρά τα πολλά προβλήματα που είχαμε να αντιμετωπίσουμε.
Σε αυτό το γήπεδο έχουμε ζήσει μεγάλες ευρωπαϊκές βραδιές και ελπίζουμε και η αποψινή να
έχει το τέλος που θέλουμε. Ζητούμε από τον κόσμο του Απόλλωνα να μας στηρίξει και να επιδεί ξει υπομονή, καθώς είμαστε μια νέα ομάδα με νέα αγωνιστική φιλοσοφία. Γνωρίζουμε όλοι τους στόχους μας και γι’ αυτούς θα παλέψουνε μέχρι το τελευταίο παιχνίδι της περιόδου.

Dear Apollon fans,
Tonight, we play our first match for the 2021/22 season. We begin our campaign at AEK Arena against a very challenging opponent, such as Zilina, and we expect two tough games, since we know that Zilina is a team with a lot of experience in European competitions. We acknowledge the fact that the team might not be 100% ready yet, however, we have already worked hard and will continue to do so, in order to reach our full potential and overcome any problems and obstacles we might face.
In this stadium, we have experienced some great European nights and we hope that tonight will be the same. We ask you, the fans, to be patient and support this team, since we are a new project with a new mentality, thus it will take time to settle in the new game plan. We all know what are here to do and we will fight in order to reach all of our objectives.
I wish that you will all enjoy a beautiful and thrilling game, which will also conclude to a positive result.

Για τελευταία χρονιά η ομάδα μας θα δώσει τους εντός έδρας ευρωπα ϊκούς αγώνες εκτός Λεμεσού. Φέτος επιλέχθηκε το ΑΕΚ Αρένα ως έδρα μας, αντί του ΓΣΠ, το οποίο από την νέα αγωνιστική περίοδο αναβαθμί ζεται στην κατηγορία 4 και μπορεί πλέον να φιλοξενεί αγώνες μέχρι τα ημιτελικά όλων των ευρωπαϊκών διοργανώσεων.
Το ΑΕΚ Αρένα κτίστηκε το 2016 και είναι χωρητικότητας 7303 θέσεων.
Η Δυτική κεντρική εξέδρα ονομάστηκε Γεώργιος Καραπατάκης (1885 θέσεων), η Ανατολική εξέδρα AJK Group (2008 θέσεων), η Νότια εξέδρα Πετρολίνα (1706 θέσεων) και η Βόρεια εξέδρα Λάρνακα (1704 θέσεων).
Κάθε εξέδρα χωρίζεται σε διάφορα τμήματα που φέρουν τις ονομασίες περιοχών και χωριών της επαρχίας Λάρνακας.
