1st Corinthians 9:2: If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. Acts 9:15: But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Romans 1:1: Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, The Greek word for the word Apostle in Romans Chapter 1: verse 1: means ἀπόστολος apostolos
ap-os'-tol-os From G649; a delegate; specifically an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ (“ apostle” ), (with miraculous powers): - apostle, messenger, he that is sent.
The word apostle means “one who is sent out.” In the New Testament, there are two primary usages of the word apostle. The first is in specifically referring to the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. The second is in generically referring to other individuals who are sent out to
be messengers/ambassadors of Jesus Christ. An apostle in a local apostolic church is one that is called and sent by the Holy Spirit to explore or settle a new country or area (pioneer) a local assembly in a particular territory (Galatians 1:1). Galatians 1:1: Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) Many Leaders in the church are hired by the church committee, or pulpit committee. When the Apostle walks in his assignment and enters the territory that God assigns for him to
go to, then the anointing that is on his life will cause others to come to the ministry. The Apostles were chosen by God. 6 Signs of an Apostle: 1. A. CALLED BY THE LORD: Galatians 1:1: Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) B. The Apostle Paul had a supernatural encounter with the Lord (Acts 9). 2. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST:
A. Apostles get people baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. You can’t be an apostle and neglect, or ignore the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Paul asked, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost (Acts 19:2).” B. 1st Corinthians 2:4-5: 4. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5. That your faith should
not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 3. SPIRITUAL FATHERS: A. Apostles are spiritual fathers. They are spiritual fathers having spiritual sons and daughters. They will correct you in love. They are deeply concerned about your spiritual walk with the Lord. They are known and seen for their love for Gods people. 4. SENT ONES: A. Apostles are the sent ones. They are set men that set things in order by the leading of the
Holy Ghost. Apostles are not sent by man, but by the Holy Ghost. B. Apostles do not go where they are not invited. When they are sent somewhere they cannot leave until the assignment is over. Acts 13:2: As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 5. BUILDERS: 1st Corinthians 3:10: According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. The Greek word for the word masterbuilder means: ἀρχιτέκτων architektōn ar-khee-tek'-tone From G746 and G5045; a chief constructor, that is, “ architect” : masterbuilder.
6.SUFFER: A. Paul defended his Apostleship by saying; Phillipians 3:8: Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the
knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Philippians 3:10: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; B.True Apostles are: Called by Christ alone Get people filled with the Holy Ghost Loving spiritual fathers with spiritual sons and daughters Sent ones Builders Suffer with the people
Intro Scripture: Delegated Authority of the Apostle: Ephesians 4:11-12: 11. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: The Five-Fold ascension gifts are called to work together in perfecting the saints for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. The Apostle is the set man that sets things in order. The Apostle will be led by the Holy Spirit to set the various leaders in places of delegated authority. The Apostle established churches. The Apostle will mainly be on the outside of the church building. Their drive is to build, plant and to destroy that which is not of God. All Apostles are Seers. The main function of the Seer Anointing is to
discern by the Spirit of Discernment. The Bishop which is a mature pastor is an Apostle who unlike the Apostle stays mainly in the church overseeing his flock. The Apostles job is not to do everything in the church, but to make sure everything gets done. The Helps Ministry is assigned to help and to assist the Apostle (set man): in the local church to carry out his Kingdom assignment. 1st Corinthians 12:18: But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. Numbers 27:16-17:
16. Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, 17. Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. Thesis: Assignment of the Apostle: 1st Corinthians 3:10: According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
The Apostle impacts Apostolic Grace. The Apostle organizes people into their purpose. and deploys teams. The apostolic dimension activates and empowers every believer to occupy their assigned places of spiritual authority.
Apostles are known, as the Battle-Ax. They come to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
