Housing and Residential Learning Communities Appalachian offers opportunities to choose a community in which to live and learn. On-campus housing is required for first-year students and transfer students less than one year out of high school. Boone, North Carolina Boone is a college town in the best sense — a place where people say hello on the street and a vibrant downtown is just a block from campus. Its eclectic hub, known as King Street, features specialty shops, restaurants and cultural attractions. Whether in town for a weekend or a four-year education, many people find it difficult to leave Boone. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains attract outdoor enthusiasts year-round for hiking, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, cycling, fishing, kayaking, rock climbing and other activities.

Transfer Admission

Transfer students are admitted on a rolling basis for fall and spring semesters, as well as summer sessions, until each class is full.
