FBLA CARRY OUT LUNCH ANNUAL FUNDRASIER

FBLA will hold their annual carry out lunch on Friday May 15. For only $7.00 you can get a delivered lunch including a pulled pork sandwich, chips, cookie, & a bottle of water. RELAY FOR LIFE IS GETTING CLOSER - JUNE 27

Relay For Life is getting closer. Mark your calendar for June 27. This is the time to get your sponsorship to Verna or Katheryn. They think it would be great to have all the businesses sponsored in the county’s Relay this year. If you have not been contacted they want to say sorry you were missed and call them at 573-470-7154 and they will get information to you. May 8 is the deadline for sponsorship. Madison will hold their All Town Garage Sales on Saturday May 23. To get your name on the list make a list of your items, your name, address and phone number. You can also drop off at City Hall., 200 N. Main, Lists need to be in by Sunday, May 17. Maps can be picked up at Casey’s or Nelson’s Old Time Cafe Friday and Sunday.

And the Walls Come Tumbling Down...

The west facing wall of a building on East Monroe Street, south of the Monroe County Courthouse, collapsed Sunday afternoon, December 14. Most of the rest of the wall came down on Monday, December 15. Work is continuing on the removal of the buildings on Monroe Street where the wall collapsed and two buildings have to be taken down to the ground. APPEAL PHOTO

4-H and FFA work hand in hand According to Eager Beaver’s 4-H Club leader Laura Long, “The Monroe County Eager Beaver 4-H Club has planned to do some landscaping at the Paris R-II School District for some time now,” said Long. “Last Friday and Saturday, with weather permitting the group was able to fulfill this wish.”

Tony Francis and Josh Bondy lead the charge by preparing the beds and laying the landscape fiber on Friday. Then, on Saturday the 4-H group planned to do the planting and mulching in preparation for Baccalaureate and then Sunday, May 17 graduation. Long explained that the Eager Bea-

The Madison West Monroe Volunteer Firefighters spent Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, at Tan Tar A, Lake of the Ozark, for their 2015 FFAM Annual Convention. Firefighter Association of Missouri is the largest fire association in the state of Missouri. Friday night was opening ceremony with a mixer after. Saturday was competition day and the awards were presented that evening during the banquet. Sunday morning the business of

There are five events and Madison placed in three of them. They took 1st place in two person hose coupling with Chase Barnes and Johnathan Wolfe. In replace a section of hose, they took 3rd place with Chad Wolfe,

Johnathan Wolfe, Chase Barnes, and Christina Love. For the bucket brigade, it was second place with Chad Wolfe, Johnathan Wolfe, Chase Barnes, Christina Love, and James Freels. It was at the banquet that the team found out they took first overall. They now have their name on the Competition Bell five times for their overall wins. Those attending the convention as

HOMECARE MEMORIAL SERVICE MAY 18

HomeCare of Mid-Missouri Hospice will hold a Memorial Service and Balloon Release on Monday, May 18, in honor of their patients who have passed and also other loved ones in the community who are missed by family and friends. The event will be held on Monday, May 18, at 5 p.m., in HomeCare of Mid-Missouri Training Center, 106 Clark, Moberly.
