Roswell election: incumbents ousted Zapata, Palermo, Horton win big By JONATHAN COPSEY jonathan@appenmediagroup.com ROSWELL, Ga. – For the incumbents in Roswell’s City Council races, Nov. 3 was a rough night. Both Rich Dippolito and Becky Wynn, who have served two terms together, were defeated by newcomer challengers. Marcelo Zapata defeated
Dippolito, receiving 57 percent of the vote, or 4,044 votes. Wynn, in Post 2, was defeated by Mike Palermo, receiving just 25 percent of the vote to Palermo’s 74 percent. Palermo had 5,239 people vote for him. The total voter turnout was about 7,000 residents. “It feels incredible,” said Palermo. “The work was nonstop from my supporters and volunteers. County waives penalties for vehicle taxes Commissioners offer relief after return envelopes fouled up By HATCHER HURD hatcher@northfulton.com ATLANTA – Fulton taxpayers appear to be getting relief from penalties relating to late payments of vehicle ad valorem taxes after it was discovered the return envelopes to the county did not have the correct address.
