Spring into Seasonal Experiences at Avalon Spring has sprung at Avalon in Alpharetta! On April 1, the mixed-use destination welcomes back its award-winning collection of seasonal experiences along Avalon Boulevard. From weekly yoga practices, to monthly comedy shows, to the largest al fresco dinner party in Atlanta and more, North Fulton’s “Living Room” is the place to be.

Kicking off this month and lasting through October, Avalon’s Signature Events Series invites friends and families of all ages to add some fun to their weekly routines.

On the first Monday of each month from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Punchline Comedy Nights will turn the most mundane day of the week into an evening filled with laughter and community. This free show brings some of Atlanta’s best live comedy acts to Palmer Plaza – located between Oak Steakhouse and Colletta – along with food and beverage specials.

Each Tuesday morning, Little Acorns promises to keep your pre-school aged kiddos entertained with a plethora of activities, including face painting, story time, visits from famous characters and more surprises. Little

Acorns is held weekly at 10 a.m. in The Plaza and is free to attend.

Nama’slay over the work week hump and get your Zen on with your girl gang during AvalOM every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in The Plaza. AvalOM classes are taughts by top instructors from Flywheel Sports, Club Plates, Athleta, Lululemon and other local yoga, barre and Pilates studios. Yogis are required to bring their own mats for this calming practice.

Celebrate the end of your work week with Avalon Nights Live every Friday in The Plaza! From 6 to 8 p.m., unwind and welcome in the weekend with live musical entertainment by local favorites like The Mike Veal Band. Come prepared to dance like nobody’s watching and sing along to your favorite hits.

Benefits of minimally invasive surgery

With minimally invasive procedures readily available, women now have several treatment options for a variety of gynecologic issues, including abnormal bleeding or periods, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, amongst other conditions. These minimally invasive procedures offer countless benefits over traditional surgery.

As a gynecologist, women frequently present to our office complaining of heavy or prolonged periods. In the past, management was limited to birth control pills and IUDs or surgical interventions as drastic as a hysterectomy. Current options are far less risky and allow for very little down time.

One such option is an Endometrial ablation, a common procedure utilized to decrease the volume and length of a woman’s menses. Performed in our state-of-the-art office with no incisions, a woman can drastically improve the quality of her life with minimal risks via ablation. All of which is done in approximately 5 minutes with minimal pain and downtime. With its utilization, women can avoid the sometimes-undesired prolonged hormone exposure of birth control pills and the surgical risks involved with a hysterectomy.

In the event findings or symptoms require something more significant be done, robotic surgery has revolutionized gynecologic surgery. With a decreased risk of bleeding, infection, hospital stay, and post-operative pain, robotic surgery can be utilized to complete a hysterectomy, ovarian cyst removal, treatment of endometriosis and removal of uterine fibroids. Patients are ambulating and resuming normal activities soon after procedures that would have otherwise required extensive recovery.
