Dunwoody was honored, along with the top 10-ranking cities in each of five population categories, during the National League of Cities’ City Summit Nov. 16 in Atlanta. Dunwoody, with a population of 51,000, was ranked ninth in the category of cities with up to 75,000. In announcing the award, the organization described Dunwoody as having “a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making.” The organization cites the city’s use of surveys and feedback requests to obtain citizen input, in addition to tracking key performance indicators to monitor engagement. They also highlight the decision to move data to the cloud, segregating access and using policies to ensure data storage complies with Georgia’s Open Records Act. “This recognition reinforces the outstanding work of our Technology Department in leveraging new tools to increase cybersecurity and improve our effectiveness across all departments,”
