Within the UK, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is committed to offering an extensive regional touring programme, with established residencies in Croydon, Northampton, Lowestoft, Reading and Crawley. The Orchestra also gives regular performances at other venues throughout the UK, including forthcoming engagements in Ipswich, High Wycombe and Dartford. As an international orchestra, the RPO has toured more than thirty countries in the last five years. Recent tours have included performances in Japan, Egypt, Russia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Azerbaijan and China. The 2011-2012 season began with the second year of the Orchestra’s annual residency in Montreux, Switzerland under Charles Dutoit, with guest artists including Yefim Bronfman and Lisa Batiashvili. Autumn 2011 saw a tour to Spain with Pinchas Zukerman and concerts in Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein and Italy with Charles Dutoit and Yuja Wang. In January 2012 the Orchestra will embark on a month-long tour of the major cities of the USA with Charles Dutoit, Pinchas Zukerman and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and 2012 will also see concerts in Spain, Eastern Europe and Dublin with artists including Charles Dutoit, Pinchas Zukerman and Julia Fischer.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is London-based and performs a prestigious series of concerts each year at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. The Orchestra’s London home is at Cadogan Hall, in the heart of the capital, just off Sloane Square. Specially trained members of the Orchestra, alongside accomplished project leaders, provide comprehensive workshops where music is used as a powerful and inspirational force. RPO resound prides itself on working in a wide variety of settings, including projects connected with homeless people, youth clubs, the probation service and terminally ill children. Frequently found in the recording studio, the Orchestra records extensively for film and television as well as for all the major commercial record companies. Yoel Levi is known throughout the world from his work at the head of many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, his repertoire of symphonic, operatic and lyric works and his extensive discography. Having won first prize at the International Conductors Competition in Besancon in 1978, he spent six years as the assistant of Lorin Maazel and resident conductor at the Cleveland Orchestra and went on to be Music Director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra from 1988 to 2000. It was during his tenure with the orchestra that the British magazine Gramophone applauded his impact on the artistic standard of the orchestra: ‘Yoel Levi has built a reputation for himself and for his orchestra that is increasingly the envy of the big five American counterparts in New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Boston and Chicago.’ This sentiment was seconded with the nomination of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as "Best orchestra of the Year" for 1991/92 at the First Annual International Classical Music Awards. Similarly, Yoel Levi has held positions with several European orchestras, where he has consistently raised performances to new and critically acclaimed levels. Having been Principal Conductor of the Brussels Philharmonic (2001 to 2007) Yoel Levi was appointed Principal Conductor of the Orchestre National d'Ile de France in 2005, a post he held until 2012, giving regular concerts in Paris, the Ile de France area and increasingly taking the orchestra on tour outside France to Spain, Eastern Europe and London, where the media praised the orchestra as being one of the most inspiring and frequently engaged orchestras in Europe. Yoel Levi's engagements as guest conductor take him all over the world to conduct orchestras in London, Paris, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Rome,
Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Israel, Korea and Japan. In North America, he has conducted the New York Philharmonic and the orchestras of Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Washington, Minnesota, Toronto and Montreal amongst others. He is also the first Israeli to serve as Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with which he has given tours of the United States and Mexico as well as a special concert celebrating the 60th Anniversary of State of Israel. Other recent tours include an extensive tour of New Zealand with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and highly acclaimed concerts in Spain with the Orchestre de Paris. Yoel Levi is frequently invited to conduct at special events such as the Nobel Prize Ceremony at the head of the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Ever since his 1997 debut in the orchestra pit at the Teatro Communale in Florence conducting La Fanciulla del West, Yoel Levi has devoted a large part of his activities to the Opera repertoire conducting Carmen at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Makropulos Case by Janacek in Prague, Puccini's Edgar with the Orchestre National de France. At the ASO, he conducted Mozart's The Magic Flute, The abduction of the Seraglio, and Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle. With the Brussels Philharmonic, Yoel Levi performed Puccini's Tosca, La Traviata and Madame Butterfly and recent performances have included Tosca during the Puccini festival in Torre de Lago, Italy. In France he has conducted Poulenc’s Dialogues des carmélites, Nabucco at the Stade de France for 60,000 people, with live television broadcast in Europe. Others performances have included Aida, Elixir of Love, Hansel and Gretel and La Boheme, amongst others.
Yoel Levi has made more than forty recordings on different labels with various orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic and the Israel Philharmonic. More than thirty of these are with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for Telarc. His recordings are devoted to the music of Barber, Beethoven, Brahms, Copland, Dohnanyi, Dvorak, Haydn, Hindemith, Kodaly, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Mussorgsky, Nielsen, Prokofiev, Puccini, Ravel, Rossini, SaintSaens, Schoenberg, Shostakovitch, Sibelius, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky among others. In 1997 Yoel Levi was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degree by Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and also gave the commencement address. In June 2001 he was named “Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Government. Born in Romania, Yoel Levi grew up in Israel where he studied at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music, where he received a Master of Arts degree with distinction, and The Jerusalem Academy of Music under Mendi Rodan. He also studied with Franco Ferrara in Siena and Rome, with Kirill Kondrashin in the Netherlands and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Gold Medalist Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
Since his gold medal win at the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009, 23-year-old Chinese pianist Haochen Zhang has captivated audiences in the United States, Europe, and Asia with a unique combination of deep musical sensitivity, fearless imagination, and spectacular virtuosity. His return to Fort Worth as part of the 2010–2011 Cliburn Concerts series was lauded by the Dallas Morning News as “the kind of program you’d expect from a seasoned master, served up with dazzling virtuosity where wanted and astonishing sophistication elsewhere” and hailed among the top 10 performances of 2010 by both the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. His Boston debut under the auspices of the Celebrity Series met with high praise by audiences and critics, making the year-end lists as part of the Boston Phoenix’s top 10 classical music stories of the year. Boston Globe critic Matthew Guerrieri remarked that Mr. Zhang displayed “poetic temperament as much as technical power… [he is] a pianist with ample reserves of power whose imagination seems nonetheless most kindled by subtle delicacy.” A passionate and insightful programmer, Mr. Zhang continues to cultivate his reputation through major performances and debuts every year. Highlights of the 2011–2012 season include return engagements with San Francisco and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras; the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in celebration of their 75th anniversary; performances at the Kravis Center, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and Carmel Center for the Performing Arts; and a tour of Japan in October. He will make his Paris debut with a recital at the Louvre Museum and his Vienna debut with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in the spring. An enthusiastic chamber musician, Mr. Zhang will perform with the Tokyo String Quartet in a special gala event for the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and with the Shanghai Quartet as part of the Mountain Music Festival in the Berkshires. In past seasons, he has performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic. He has traversed the United States for performances with such prestigious series as Spivey Hall, La Jolla Music Society, Celebrity Series of Boston, CU Artist Series, Cliburn Concerts,
Krannert Center, Wolf Trap Discovery Series, Lied Center of Kansas, and UVM Lane Series. International tours have taken him to Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Rome, Tivoli, and Belgrade, among other cities. Mr. Zhang’s Cliburn Competition performances of Stravinsky’s Trois mouvements de Pétrouchka; Chopin’s Twenty-Four Preludes, Op. 28; Mason Bates’ White Lies for Lomax; and Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody were released to critical acclaim by harmonica mundi usa in 2009. He is also featured in Peter Rosen’s award-winning documentary chronicling the 2009 Cliburn Competition, A Surprise in Texas, which was sold out within two weeks of release and subsequently re-released. Mr. Zhang has a wide-ranging intellectual curiosity that is nurtured through his continuing studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia under the guidance of Gary Graffman. He has previously trained at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Shenzhen Arts School, where he was admitted in 2001 at the age of 11 to study with Professor Dan Zhaoyi. A voracious reader with an interest in a variety of subjects, including literature, science, and history, Mr. Zhang also writes poetry and enjoys painting.

曲。作品中蕴含了两首塞尔维亚民歌的旋律，中段则出现了俄罗斯的国 歌《天佑沙皇》的旋律，后半部分音乐风格再次回归俄罗斯，体现出俄罗 斯对塞尔维亚的支持，最终作品结束于一个绚丽磅礴的尾声中。
