BERANDA 2012- NOW
https://issuu.com/diberanda http://di-beranda.tumblr.com/
Beranda is self-publishing online magazine which was founded by several women who graduated from Bandung Institute Technology, majoring in Architecture. The Idea is to have a platform where woman can deliver their messages, their voices, and opinion. We believe that woman perspective is needed to shape today's decision. We have not limited our discussion only in design and architecture, but also other boarder topics, so that women from different backgrounds can join to enrich the current issues. Beranda is our side project, in which we do it in our spare time in between our profession as an architect, urban designer, creative director, researcher. It has already reached the 4th issue. In each Issue, we tried to have different topics which come from current issue considered as important to be headlines of the magazine. All our content is mostly written in our national language, Bahasa Indonesia because the target market is for reaching as much as readers from our country. Also because the topics are coming from our nation current situation, then adjust with what also happens globally.
I. 1st ISSUE 'PULANG'
In this edition, our idea is to define the words 'pulang'. Pulang in English is 'to come back.' Since it's natural in Indonesia, to go outside from your hometown to get jobs, to continue study, or other reasons which make border between place is no longer rigid. We redefine this word according to personal opinion. I wrote about the struggle to catch up with my sudden grown hometown which I found it different every time I go back from another city. My hometown is a cultural city, in which many tourists come and automatically to compete with the tourism sector, some buildings dedicated to leisure and accommodation starts to grow out. 2
The local people start to question about this sudden change. The objective of the writings is mostly about how these local residents are still trying to manage and being critics about their city. They used street graffiti and art poster in several spots of the city to raise their voice about this uncontrolled development. The city becomes their protest canvas, a medium to deliver the neighborhood rights. That is the reason why the writing's title is 'Protes Kota', which in English means 'City Protest'.
II. 2nd ISSUE 'DUNIA MAYA'
In this edition, our idea is to discuss the concept of Social Media World. We called it ' DUNIA MAYA' in the Indonesian Language. The definition is the world which is not physically. We tried to elaborate the idea based on the current trend in which social media began to replace our real world. How important now for people to always feel connected to the entire of the world. I made an Illustration, with English text, to illustrate how technology is now playing significant roles in our daily life. 3
III. 3rd ISSUE 'NEGERI DI ATAS ANGAN'
In this edition, our focus is to talk about our nation. We compose from many ethnic groups, with many local languages, but still, our decision to be one nation is what we tried to emphasize in this issue. I wrote about my traveling journey to another part of my country. I went to east part of Indonesia with public transport. The experience left much unforgettable knowledge and understanding of differences. I witness the changing of landscape, character, language, from one island to another island gradually. This perspective is what I tried to tell to the readers. 4
IV. 4th ISSUE 'RUANG NIRBATAS'
In this edition, our idea is to connect space with time. How space is changing. My case is a tactical urbanism phenomenon, about the temporary market which happens in many spots in Milan. How the function of the street is changing to be the spaces for buying and selling activity, become a sudden social place in 1 day during the entire week. The idea is to make an animation on how we can see the different user and different function happened there.

KOLASE KOTA 2012- NOW
http://kolasekota.tumblr.com/
A compilation of story about city in a simple interpretation: poems, illustration, photography, another medium which is easier for readers with many backgrounds to enjoy topics about city
BRUSSEL Arriving in Brussel, you will easily realize that part of the city is extremely vast and lost of scale while another is utterly different with a nice pathway that welcomes a wanderer like you. Belgium is kind of having similliarity with Netherlands. They called the heart of the city with a phrase ‘centrum’. This centrum area is exactly what fascinates people from around the world to come. The space were very friendly to walk by. Most of this area are historical cores, where you can see old building surround a typicall open public plaza. Nowadays we can see the character of buildings around grote markt through magical light attraction every day around 5 pm. It was a typicall tourist area with souvenir stores and lot of people pass by. Otherwise, if you want to seek a peaceful yet solitude moment for your self, you can enter the museum around the plaza. Bruxxeles museum is a right choices for those who want to know the history of the city, we even can reckon the city growth process from several display models in the museum. Furthermore if you don’t want to be an overrated Belgian chocolate shopper, you can go to the chocolate museum to see the history of it or learn how to make pralines from a Belgian guy who speak 3 languages at the same time. The best thing that happened to this city was high participates of the young generation to enlarge the possibility discovering something new in the town. Besides so many useful and thematic maps that government offers, they make their own version of map. Including some interesting sections in it, my favorite was ‘act as a local’ section, incredibly funny and fresh! Started from brussel, they inspire other city in Europe to make the same map (surprisingly, I just have known that Milan have it too). Salute to usee-it! 6
LEUVEN Leuven is somekind of utopia for me, as I living in a city like Milan. It gives warm feelings every time it name across some conversation. The walkable scale of the city , the lovely elderly in public spaces, the safety feeling you got when walking around even in the dark neighbourhood at the overnight time, all of this things may become images that will bear in mind for this place.
Leuven is small enough to know how many frittes stalls are in this city, and which one has the genial seller with charmest smile. Like every city in Belgium, all the activity centralized in centrum. They have a church whose bell can be heared by all of the city region. Probably Leuven is a complete package town for a scholar. It has a tranquil and comfortable situation for studying yet you still can get any of stuffs and facilities around. Student can manage their cheering life since Leuven has some bars in oudenmarkt (actually its not some, they got the nickname as the longest bar in Europe!) 7
SHARING SESSION

The Idea of the event is to have an incubator/sharing session where the student from the different background can exchange knowledge and present their school projects. The word ngeteh which means 'tea time' in English, has a purpose of creating the idea that this sessions has an atmosphere of casual sharing, where people feel like they talk to their friends at an afternoon time. 9
A VISUAL INVENTORY For she is in love with the city and the people. She tried to memorize every detail with her personal visual journal, in which she can come through when she tries to reconstruct the atmosphere of a particular thing. Her fond of walking and exploring is a part of understanding knowledge of design on a daily basis.
