April Llewellyn
April H. Llewellyn is an artist whose work explores the labor of love: how crafting and gifting can build relationships between people, communities, and places. She works in an interdisciplinary fashion and as such wears a lot of hats: papermaker, book artist, draftswoman, crafter, painter, web designer. She is originally from Huntsville, AL where she graduated with a degree in studio art from the University of AL in Huntsville in 2009. She is currently attending Columbia College Chicago's Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts MFA program, where she has been awarded the papermaking graduate assistant, the Graduate Opportunity Award, and, most recently, the Albert P. Weisman award. She will be receiving her MFA in May 2012 and would like to attribute her success to her supportive and inspirational family, friends, colleagues, and mentors.
