Spotlight on travelling in the EU Summer is a time when many Europeans go on holiday, and they frequently choose destinations in Europe. There is a lot for travellers to discover and explore, and all is made much easier thanks to the EU. For example, it is possible to cross many borders within the EU without being checked. Holidaymakers have easy access to healthcare, should they need it, and the euro makes it easier to pay in shops and restaurants. Driving is easier because driving licences and motor insurance policies issued in one EU country are valid in all the others. And now there are not even any more roaming charges for using mobile phones abroad. In this holiday-themed edition of the newsletter, the Publications Office presents a selection of titles which contain practical tips for anyone travelling in Europe, including information on the various rights that EU citizens enjoy while travelling.
