Marianella Martínez Castellón de la Plana, Castellón, Spain (1972) Co-founder of two technological companies with international presence After finishing her studies in clinical psychology, she worked in the educational field. The observation and analysis of children's behaviors, and the search for possible solutions, allowed her to have an analytical approach to deal with challenges. She enjoys seeing that the same result can lead to different paths. When she had the opportunity to move to another country, she took advantage of the opportunity to do a master's degree in organizational psychology, which gave her some of the skills to become an entrepreneur. When she did not find what she considered to be the ideal job, she decided to focus on her entrepreneurial side. Today, in the technological innovation companies she co-founded (Roofeco and Blue Plasma Power), decisions are made on the basis of interdisciplinary analysis, which allows them to reach short-, medium- and long-term results. She believes that teamwork is fundamental to achieve milestones.

Amelia Simó Vila-real, Castellón, Spain (1967) From a very early stage, she combined her research career in the field of statistical models and methods for spatial data with positions of responsibility in university management She obtained an undergraduate degree and a doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Valencia. In 1991, the year the Universitat Jaume I was founded, she joined the Department of Mathematics at this university just after graduating. She is currently Full Professor of Statistics and Operational Research in that same department. Since 2018 she has been the director of the UJI's School of Technology and Experimental Sciences, the centre where all the degree courses in the fields of science, engineering and architecture are taught. Previously, she had been the vicedirector of the Bachelor's Degree in Computational Mathematics, which she contributed to implement as an official course at the University. Coordinator of the Research Group "2D and 3D Shape Analysis, Statistical Learning in Artificial Intelligence and Stereology", her research has focused on the analysis of spatial data: digital images, 3D body scans, map locations, etc. She has collaborated with researchers from different research fields, combining her theoretical research in the development and study of new models and methods in spatial statistics, with direct applications to the mentioned fields.

She participates in the design and development of research projects in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical and Health Technology Industry, Scientific Societies, and/or Patient Advocacy Groups. The projects focus on exploring the patient-reported outcomes, such as quality of life or preferences, and on evaluating the efficiency of new medicines and health technologies, estimating their potential costs and benefits through simulation models. These projects make it possible to improve the treatment of a pathology, incorporating the patient's perspective and needs, or to facilitate optimal access to new healthcare technology for all patients who need it.
