Gladys Mínguez Vega Jérica, Castellón, Spain (1974) Her research focuses on the synthesis of high-purity nanoparticles and new nanomaterials with pulsed lasers PhD in Optics from the University of Valencia and Associate Professor at the University at the Jaume I University (UJI) of Castellón. She is also secretary of the Physics Department at UJI. She specialized in Ultrafast Optics and Photonics at Purdue University (United States), the FernUnivesitat in Hagen (Germany) and the Institute of Applied Optics (Poland). She co-directs the Photonics Research Group of the UJI, where she investigates new ways of producing and synthesizing nanoparticles with pulsed lasers. This method allows obtaining highly pure nanoparticles through an environmentally friendly procedure. She collaborates in multidisciplinary and international teams that try to find solutions on key issues for the sustainable development goals, such as the application of nanotechnology in personalized medicine and in renewable energy.
