Judit Carreras Areny Sant Llorenç Savall, Spain (1974)

Responsible for verifying the quality of a chip design before it is manufactured She has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master of Advanced Studies issued by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Her career within microelectronics companies has included working in a wide variety of disciplines such as software, firmware, participation in standards, definition of work procedures, chip design, and use of prototypes in the laboratory. She is also an inventor on numerous patents. Currently, she is working on technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi, and cable modem that will allow us to have a more connected and global world in the near future. In these complex projects, the Verification Group is multinational, collaborating with engineers from different countries and continents.

Laura Santonja Blasco Bocairent, Valencia, Spain (1979) The driving force behind her research has been to understand how changes in the molecular structure of polymers affect the process and degree of crystallization. PhD from the Universitat Politècnica de València in the engineering and industrial production program. Doctoral research focused on the impact degradation of polymer on its morphology and properties by using thermal analysis techniques. In 2013 she joined Florida State University (USA) to investigate the crystallization process of new polyolefins with relevant crystalline behaviors. Two industries linked to the petrochemical sector participated (Polymer Char (Paterna) and SCG Chemicals, Thailand). She joined Polymer Char in 2017 through the state program Torres Quevedo that fosters research at industrial level. Since then, her work is linked to projects focused on the further optimization of analytical techniques based on the crystallization of polyolefins.

Adela Ruiz Dominguis Valencia, Spain (1964) She has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master of Advanced Studies in Integration of Technologies in Organization issued by the Polytechnic University of Valencia She is currently Director of Intelligent Optimization Systems at ITI, a private technology center specializing in ICT. Her work consists of research, design and development of models and systems for the analysis of very complex problems, which the human mind is not able to handle. She has always had a passion for mathematics, logic and problem solving. To all those girls attracted by some profession or STEM career, I would say follow their passion, forget prejudices and stereotypes, and dare to break molds. Don’t let them be afraid.
