Araceli Puente Trueba Torrelavega, Cantabria, Spain (1965) Passionate about advancing knowledge of the estuaries and coasts of Cantabria PhD in Marine Sciences, she is Professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Cantabria. Teaches at the School of Civil Engineering where she is the coordinator of the official master's degree in Integrated Management of Water Systems. Attached to the Environmental Hydraulics Institute as the head of the Coastal Ecosystems Group, her research work focuses on the study of spatio-temporal patterns of benthic communities, the analysis of environmental risks linked to estuarine and coastal ecosystems, in the effects of anthropogenic pressures and the impacts of climate change. She has published 71 articles and 17 chapters in scientific journals and books. She has participated in more than 78 research projects at national and European level, for companies and/or administrations.
Lorena Cabria de Juan Santander, Cantabria, Spain (1976) She develops Radiofrequency systems, solutions for particle accelerators and developments for satellite on-board transmitting chains Telecommunications Engineer and Ph. D. from University of Cantabria, extraordinary Doctoral award in technical teachings. She started her research career at the University of Cantabria. She is working at TTI Norte as project manager and performing engineering tasks. She participates in different projects of the European Space Agency aimed at developing power amplifiers for satellites like Galileo. Since 2018 she is the project coordinator of FLEXGAN project, collaborating with an international team to develop an amplifier for vHTS 5G satellites. She is co-author of more than 80 papers published in prestigious international journals and conferences. She is mother of a boy and a girl whom she encourages to explore scientific careers.
