Rosa Querejeta San Sebastiรกn, Spain (1964) First female engineer at OTIS Spain Industrial Engineer, mechanical specialty, from the University of Navarra. Rosa begans her professional career at OTIS, at the San Sebastiรกn Factory, and was the first female engineer of the more than 5,500 OTIS Spain employees in 1989.

She started designing processes and production tools, but quickly started her international career at the OTIS factory in Liverpool (UK).

The 5 years in England were very enriching for her because during this period she was able to develop international skills and manage situations highly complex, in addition to working in the quality area and in the integral transformation of the plant, both from a technical and business point of view.

Subsequently, already back in Madrid, she is in charge of creating and managing the Supplier Development Department, influencing the improvement of the components of the OTIS factories in Spain, being appointed in 2009 as director of the factory in Madrid.

In 2013, she reached the position of Director of Manufacturing and Engineering of OTIS Spain, leading all of its factories as well as one of the five world OTIS R&D Centers.

Sara Correyero Madrid, Spain (1991) Aeronautical engineer, doctor in fluid mechanics and entrepreneur Aeronautical Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, PhD in Fluid Mechanics from the Carlos III University of Madrid and founding partner of ienai SPACE She carried out the Doctoral Thesis on plasma engines for space propulsion with the French aerospace laboratory ONERA (Paris) and the Carlos III University of Madrid.

She has received several awards, including "Best Visionary Idea for the Future of Electric Propulsion" at the 2017 International Electric Propulsion Conference (Atlanta) with three colleagues, and "Best Communication" at the bi-annual Space Propulsion Conference. 2018 (Seville).

In 2019, she co-founded ienai SPACE, startup of the UC3M-ESA BIC Madrid Region node in the UC3M Science Park, dedicated to the development of electric rockets for small satellites. The project has been selected by several business accelerators (Airbus Bizlab, Lanzadera and ESA-BIC), has received public funding and has been awarded in various competitions.

She is passionate about space and technological innovation, actively participates in workshops and forums to make the role of women in STEM areas visible.

María Jesús Nieto Béjar, Spain (1973) She studies the decisions and performance of firms, with special focus on SMEs and family businesses PhD in Economics and Professor of Management, UC3M. Her lines of research focus on the study on innovation and internationalization strategies. She has published more than 50 works in journals, books and joint works. Her publications are in the most prestigious journal in the area.

She is the Principal Researcher in 6 competitive and co-director of the Entrepreneurship and Strategy Research Group at UC3M. She is the Director of the Master in Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing since its creation in 2012, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Business Initiatives and Family Business at UC3M. She has managed and participated in the MOOC on Technological Entrepreneurship at Edx platform.

UC3M Social Council Award in the category of Young Researchers, and Caja de Madrid Foundation and Banco Herrero Foundation’s research awards.

In 2020 she has been recognized as a “Rugman Fellow” by the University of Reading (UK).

Celia López Madrid, Spain (1971) Leader of the multidisciplinary research team UC3M4Safety PhD Industrial Engineer by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Expert in Equality Policies Management by UC3M, she is Associate Professor in Electronic Technology Department, Deputy Director of the Institute for Gender Studies and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Internationalization in this University.

In 2016, she launched a new research line in Emotion Detection using Cyber-Physical Systems, based on wireless sensor networks. The interest on adding gender perspective in Research enables the creation of the multidisciplinary team UC3M4Safety, with researchers from different areas of knowledge, whose objective is the study and proposal of solutions to avoid attacks against vulnerable groups, mainly women victims of Gender Violence, from a technological and social interdisciplinary perspective.

One of UC3M4Safety’s achievements is Bindi automatic device, a prototype semifinalist in XPRIZE International Challenge Women’s Safety, recognized by UC3M Social Council and winner in the Vodafone Foundation Prizes.
