The fourth year of Women's Lacrosse will bring some exciting changes, last Spring the WHAC voted to make Women's Lacrosse a full varsity Conference Championship sport. This made the WHAC the first conference in the NAIA to make such a move, the NWLL the National Association made up of all NAIA programs also continued to see growth and made the move to give it a more National footprint by moving its National Championship from Rome, GA to St Louis, MO area, this gives it a more centralized location to make it easier for all programs. With the change within the WHAC our Saints will now play a Home and Home with their other WHAC programs and then fill their schedule in with other NAIA and NCAA teams. The Schedule will provide a good challenge for your Lady Laxers who will open the season Ranked 3rd in the Nation, behind defending National Champions SCAD and last years runner up and WHAC foe Indiana Tech. AQ will be lead by a very strong group of Seniors who represent the programs very first recruiting class four years ago, these young ladies have already made a mark for themselves and are looking to close our their careers with a National Championship. Bre Stockall (G, Okemos), Lauren McCarty (M, GR Catholic), Liza Flewelling (A, Flint Powers) and Kati Rogers (A, Portage) will also be this years captains. Rogers and Flewelling were both named All Americans last year for the Saints, Stockall has been a stand out goalie for four years and McCarty leads the team first line at midfield for the high paced Saints.
and work in front of Stockall and Jr Goalie Meghan Gray (Fisher,IN) in the Saints complex defense. Alexa Burns (So, Ladywood) moves back to Attack and is now paired with Rogers and Flewelling along with junior college transfer Mikela Caseria (Genesse CC,NY) on the potent offensive end of the field for AQ Along with McCarty the Saints Middies, the work horses of the team are lead by Juniors Taylor Truttschel (Arrowhead, WI), Abby Lux (Glenbrook North, IL),Monelle Bradshaw (Coral Springs, FL),and Bailey Terebinski (Flint Powers), Sophomores Haley Jacob (Rocky River, OH) and Kenzie Klingenberg (Grand Haven) and Freshmen Lindsay Barrett (Marion Cat holic) and Cour tney Wheel ock (Indianapolis, Ind). This group of ladies have been working hard to learn both ends of the field and learn each other as line mates. This group of ladies have set the goal of winning this years National Championship and with hard work and good team chemistry they will be able to reach that goal.
AQ lead the nation in scoring and assist last year with the fast paced, run and gun style of play and they look to raise that bar again this year. Meaghan Farrell (SO, GR Catholic), Alisa Skluzacek (Jr, St Charles, IL), Sam Fogus (Jr, Midland), Iris Bannon (FR, Orangeville, ONT) and Anne Morrow (FR, GR Catholic) have all been working hard to get to know each other
