H.E. Eleni Michalopoulou, the new Ambassador of Greece to Qatar
Ambassador Mrs. Michalopoulou, a familiar name and face at our Chamber, has been a frequent participant and speaker at our events, for which we are appreciative and honored. On this occasion, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations for her appointment as Greece’s Ambassador to Qatar.

Mrs. Ambassador’s long and outstanding diplomatic career at the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs stretches over three decades, with posting at several international locations, such as Austria (covering UN Organizations), Cyprus, Belgium and Brussels, in the capacity of a Counsellor, to mention but a few. She served as a Consul General in Moscow,

during the period 2013-2016, and continued with her appointment as Head A5 Directorate for Political Relations with Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Caucasus, Black Sea countries and Central Asia at Ministry of Hellenic Republic’s. From 2017 and up to her departure for Qatar in September 2020, she served as the Head of B3 Directorate for Economic Relations with North Africa countries, Middle East and countries of the Gulf.
Mrs. Michalopoulou, a lawyer by profession, has also to her credit, a degree in Public Administration and a Master’s in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Tufts University, Massachussets. Mrs. Michalopoulou is married with four children and is fluent in English, French and Italian.
