The Magic Of
by SUSANNE BÖSCHE
c h easn a town, is a place where a A there is no doubt about its historical significance, or of its current utmost importance in the Arabian world. When S eptember draws to an end and colorful autumn knocks on the door, the All Nations Cup brings magic to the town.
Just like the incomparable and beautiful British actress Audrey Hepburn, when she came to the film set of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” everybody felt the sparkling magic. Like a performance of the Cirque du Soleil, the ANC unfolds its own fascination and is a tribute to graceful, athletic Arabian horses and their breeders’ passion. O nce the presentation of the horses starts, you easily feel the special excitement that only the All Nations Cup offers. Remember the great, unforgettable moments when heroes like Emigrantka, Kubinec, Dorsator, Piligrim, Zagrobla or Vodolje, appeared in the arena, who stood for a second, a minor hesitation only, and than moved like no one else; accompanied by the sound of thundering applause by the audience. It is a “must see” destination: there is fun and fascination, there is music and there are emotions. There are points to be given and there are classes and championships to be won. We unfold a tiny bit of this magic in our special All Nations Cup chapter. We honor six worldwide influential breeders, who were and are important to the show, and highlight more “Equine Annals” of Aachen. Also, enjoy enj the All Nations Cup from the past through the lenses of photographers from all over the world, among them a special tribute to late Erwin Escher and Irina Filsinger, who both left us forever, and memorable moments from those from inside the arena, the handlers; as well as breeders and enthusiasts from all over the globe. Let the show begin! A HT A BROA D
